Type of a scam Online Purchase
I ordered some products from this company. After quite some time, they had not shipped, and I inquired about when they would ship, and after two days with no reply, requested my order be canceled because at that point it would not arrive in time.
At that point, the company responded to my first email, saying that their entire office had been under quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure, were just back in the office, and would ship my order soon. Within seconds, a shipping notification arrived, but the tracking page only indicated that a label had been printed; it had not been delivered to the USPS yet.
I continued to follow up with the business, indicating that they had not shipped my item, it would not arrive in time, and I wanted to cancel. They continued to insist that it was not in their possession, so they could not cancel it. Over two weeks have passed, and the tracking still only indicates that they have printed a shipping label. I am contesting the charge with my credit card company.
I have since found similar stories (in travel-planning social media groups) from several other customers, and have realized that they are sending the same word-for-word identical claims week after week after week ("just returned to the office on Monday after a quarantine" - they sent this to a different customer the week before they sent it to me. So it couldn't have been true when they sent it to me.) When a customer follows up, they create a shipping label. Most orders stop there.
A few customers report that they did eventually get a package containing merchandise, but I've never heard of someone receiving the correct item. I suspect that this is a scammer trying to dodge fraud accusations by sending very persistent customers an item purchased elsewhere, but that they are mostly just taking payment and never fulfilling orders.
