SkyLine must be desperate

On the 20th of July 2022 I was called home from work because a technician was there to upgrade my security cameras. I had no idea anyone was coming and I should’ve called ADT, but the technician knew all of my account info and how much I was paying so I believed him. He told me and my friends that were at the house that ADT was no longer in El Paso, Tx and that Brinks would be taking all of those accounts over. He assured me that the payment would stay the same and had me sign a contract he had and a pre-addressed contract cancellation to ADT. He had me speak to someone on the phone just like you do when you buy a car to verify everything. He then asked me to call ADT in 10 days to make sure the cancellation took place so I wouldn’t get two bills. I called ADT in 10 days only to be told that cancellations can only be done over the phone using my code word; signed paperwork is not honored. They told me that I had been scammed as ADT had no intention of leaving El Paso and had me report it to ADT’s deceptive sales site. I called Brinks/Skyline security to no avail. They could care less that their employee lied to get the contract. I supposedly have to pay them $4,471 dollars to get out of their contract or transfer it to someone else. Guess their desperate for business. I have stopped payment on that account and actually have their technician lying about the “upgrade” on my ring camera that he apparently failed to notice.

A man by the name of Jeff Coates came to my families house in Crystal Springs, MS stating that their company, Skyline Security Management, Inc. / Guardian had bought out the security company my family was using. My family is an elderly mother and disabled sister. This happened in February 2016. My dad passed away in May. I was checking my mom's checking account and noticed she was billed by two security companies. When I called the former company to tell them their services were no longer needed the guy on the phone asked who they went with. I told him it didn't matter. He said he was only asking because a lot of their customers (elderly) had been approached and told that SafeHome had been bought out by Guardian. This is a lie. This person is going door to door preying on vulnerable adults. I called to check on the Jeff Coates person. He is actually an employee. They need to be stopped. I had my mom put a stop payment on any more money drafted from her account by this company. They have since called to tell my sister (the name the account is in) that she will have to pay $1200 to get out of the contract. I have power of attorney for my mom and sister. I told this company that they would not be receiving any more money from my family and if they kept calling we would fill harassment charges.
