We purchased airline tickets through Delta online. In our confirmation email, it appeared that a letter was missing from one of the names on one of the tickets. A quick Google search brought up this website, that appeared to be Delta's with a phone number to call to correct this. Upon calling, the woman, who called herself Hannah, and spoke with an Indian accent, told me the tickets would have to be rebooked and there would be a $425 fee. When I questioned about just cancelling the tickets and ordering new ones, I was told that fee would be over $1000.00. I haven't flown anywhere in 30 years, and couldn't believe that this was the way things were done. But I was so upset that we might not be able to get on the plane because the name on the ticket wouldn't exactly match the ID, that I agreed to pay and gave them my credit card information and my reservation number. They quickly emailed with all of our flight information. After hanging up the phone, I started to get worried and decided to google further and started to have my doubts. I locked my credit card and had a new card with a new number issued, so they weren't able to charge my card. The emails came from a company that is really called OrbTickets, and not Delta, and is apparently not affiliated with Delta in any way either. They keep sending emails and calling because when they tried to charge my card, it was declined. I have blocked their number, but they continue to call. I have since called the real Delta, who told me the name was actually correct on the ticket, but the email didn't have enough characters to show the full name. They also told me they would not have charged me anything to fix that if it had needed to be fixed and now I am trying to make sure our tickets are secure and can't be tampered with. I am very concerned that this company has my name, address and phone number and I am also worried about identity theft and something going wrong with the first trip I have been able to go on in 3 decades because of these dishonest crooks. How are they even allowed to have a website calling themselves Delta? I'm attaching a screenshot of the website I was on.
