I booked a vacation trip for a group of 22 people. we found a great deal online but before we book the trip, I wanted to clarify the information and to see if I can book everyone at once. I called the number, and I got them. The agent (George) told me since we are more than 10 ppl he can give us a group rate which is even better than the online rate.
He got credit card numbers and info from everyone then two days later he told us he can't give us the same deal for the date we wanted because the hotel was nearly sold out so we all changed our plans to book the trip on the follow week. it took him a while, we called on 4/30 and he sent us confirmation on 5/3 after I called him couple of time asking why it's taking so long to send us the confirmations or to see charges on the credit cards for bookings, every time I called him, he said he and his team are working on it.
Few days later we saw a charge for flight bookings which was over what we were expecting and over $1300 for hotel booking which in total was the rate he gave us per person for the whole trip and he confirmed we are all set, everything is booked and fully paid for.
In addition, same day shortly after we asked him to book the trip, we asked him if instead of putting all 4 guests in the same room (each family) if he could give us two rooms king beds. he said don't worry I left a note on the reservation and when you get to the hotel, they will switch your rooms to king (double occupancy)
since I use to work for a hotel in the past, I knew what he said doesn't make sense, so I called him the day after and asked him to separate the rooms now rather than waiting until the day of travel. What if the hotel was sold out? we were even willing to pay a little more to get the rooms but he said since the hotel is "all-inclusive" they charge per person not by room so we will be fine.
It has been over a month since then and he kept dragging us. Until yesterday when I called him to check on the status he said if we want to change the rooms we must pay $960 pp extra! I called him on it and sure enough he denied everything. I told him you dragged us for a whole month while you could have say that last month when the rates were lower so we dont have to pay $960pp extra to make the change.
I ended up calling the hotel to find out if they can help us AND I was up for another surprise scam! I found out from the hotel that our reservation is only partially paid, and we were to get charged another $1500 (per room) when we check in. basically, the rate he booked us was double the rate he gave us when we booked, and he only paid the deposit on the reservation. I have been trying to get hold of someone to help us with this issue but seems no one wants to take responsibility.
I got suspicious when I checked the hotel reservation online and I saw a different rate on the hotel confirmation on the hotel website than what he gave us and we were charged for. It has been few days since I contacted the supervisor, she was to listen to all of our phone conversation recordings (if they tell the truth) and call me back. I'm still waiting!
If you like your health and care about your hard-earned money, DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY. They are nothing but a big scammer. We are 22ppl and we are to file lawsuits against them, and we are calling for people who were scammed by them like us. Calling all hotels and airlines headquarters with documents we have to prove our claim to let them know about the scams they are running so they don't jeopardize their reputation by working with them.
