Had an agreement of $350. Paid deposit and $120 cash when arrived. Smoked marijuana, and we’re on their phones for the majority of the time. I did more work than they did. Then after three hours, moving a one bedroom apartment with no couch or no big furniture, they brought my entire home to my new apartment and sat there for three hours and demanded that I pay them almost $2000 in cash before they would give me my stuff. The police called and they were just too high to do anything. I paid them the money through a shady cash app so I could get my stuff back it was the worst experience in my life.

Class Action Lawsuit
As many of you know the woman Cindy Williams is not the best employee, she lacks customer service and knowledge to be in any position for asking money from customers. If you ever felt scared and confused about this moving company I need you to do me to a favor. I need you to please text me, my phone number is 9082859845. I will need your First name, your invoice #, the city you moved to and from as documentation for this suit.
Scammed like you guys, I was quoted for $1,400 and once everything was in the truck pricing went to $5,600.
Thank you in advance for assisting in bringing these people down and promoting justice

Do not hire these con artists!
The estimate I was given was $766 (too good to be true and I should have known better, but I’ve never hired movers before and they took advantage of my naïveté). On the day of the move, 2 clearly inexperienced “movers” showed up. They showed me the estimate again and had me agree to it in writing (mine was the only signature on this “contract” thereby making it legally unenforceable. I also did not receive a copy). I had to give them $256 in cash before loading the truck.
As they were pulling up to my new house 7 hours later, I received a new invoice in my email- for $2500! None of the specifics of my move were different from the information that I had provided for the estimate. The salesperson had told me that labor only counted as the time spent loading and unloading and it was $99/hr. The estimate only included 2 hours of labor. I was told that I would be billed in 1/4 increments if it took the guys longer than an hour for loading. So if they took 3 hours instead of 2, I would be billed another $99. That seemed reasonable and I budgeted for a couple hundred extra just in case. But I did not budget for nearly $2,000 extra! The new invoice included 12 hours of labor PLUS 6 hours of travel time at $99/hr, plus random $595 and $760 charges for “travel surcharge” and “mileage.”
So the truck with all of my belongings was sitting in the driveway of my new house, and the guys were refusing to unload until I cashapped $2500 to some sketchy number. The person making this demand was a horrible troll of a person named Cindy. [censored] this horrible hobgoblin of a creature whom I picture as the decrepit love child of Golum and an orc from LOTR.
Cindy would not budge on any of her demands. She would not accept a credit card, a Venmo transaction, a check, Zelle, the blood of my firstborn. I was on a 3-way call with this orc-beast Cindy and my auntie for almost 4 hours trying desperately every which way to get her the $ she demanded. 3 separate people even TRIED to cashapp her the $ as per her demands but b/c cash app (rightly) flagged it as a scam, we were unable to get her the full amount- we were only able to get her $1100 (this was in addition to the $656 I already paid- and the quote was for $766). Cindy did not care, she would not let the guys give me back MY OWN THINGS! Finally, at midnight, she declared that the guys would go to a hotel for the night and would come back in the morning when we could ask the bank to allow the sketchy transaction to these scammers to go through. Thank god for one of the movers having some basic humanity and defying the orders of his supervisor to unload some of my things (dog food, an air mattress, a few clothes) or I literally would have been laying on a bare tile floor with absolutely nothing that night.
The next morning, my auntie was able to get her bank to approve a zelle transaction to these sketchy scammers. I had to call the “company” and (luckily) spoke with someone other than troll-trash Cindy. They finally agreed to allow a zelle transaction. B/c they had held my belongings hostage overnight, they tacked on even more charges and we had to pay an additional $2,094 (on top of the $1756 already paid) before they would send the guys over to (literally) throw my things in my house. Because they are scammers and not movers, they took no care unloading and some of my things were damaged (photos attached). I jumped in and insisted on carrying a lot of things myself to prevent more damage.
Please learn from my mistake! Do your research and make sure you are hiring a legitimate company and not a bunch of low-life criminals! I’m so thankful to have had a family member who could help me or I might have ended up losing literally everything (all of my clothes, furniture, a lifetime of memories) to these awful ghouls.
ALMOST GOT SCAMMED TODAY 26 July 2023
2. They gave me a quote of $1225.00 and asked me to secure a move date by giving them a 30% deposit of $375.00. They claimed that this included a 10% military discount. The math didn’t add up - the first red flag. They told me that they would transport my belongings to Alabama and the balance remaining (70%) would be due upon delivery. I thought it was a good deal however I was skeptical because they didn’t take credit cards and asked me for my banking account routing and account numbers. I said, “NO WAY!” This was the second red flag. They said they only take CashApp, cash, or money order. This was the third red flag.
3. So, the guy said that he would waive the deposit to help me out and that I could pay it when they pickup. I said, “Ok.” I was not too comfortable with any of it but the stress of moving and my limited timeline influenced me to secure the move date for today.
4. I received a call yesterday to confirm my appointment and I was then told that I had to pay $1510.00 with cash or money order, so I purchased 3 money orders for $500.00 each and 1 for $15.00.
5. I received a call promptly at 8:00 AM this morning. They said they were 30 minutes away.
6. Only one person showed up. I asked him how many guys were with him. He said one. I asked where is he? He said, “In the car.” I looked out to the parking area and noticed the truck was generic and white with no business logo. Plus, the one guy had on a tee-shirt that didn’t represent the name Small Move Movers and with a generic 866 # on the back. This was another red flag.
7. The guy told me that I had to give him the money orders without any writing to leave it empty. This was another red flag!
8. It was also quite obvious that the guy had no way to offer me any legitimate form of receipt and he was placing very small stickers on each box that were also very generic when in fact I was told when I made the appointment that each box would be labeled and scanned, and an electronic list would be generated. None of this was true. Therefore, I was already doing the investigation online and learned that this company is a scam! I asked the guy to explain the poor reviews as well as the fact that I was unable to find a physical location in Vero Beach, FL all while he was telling me they came to PSL, FL from Ft. Lauderdale.
Guess what I did? I politely asked him to speak with me outside and I canceled the appointment. I told him that there’s no way that I’m going to trust them with my entire life and property. They tried to get me to change my mind, but my instincts and findings didn’t allow me to take such a risk! I’m very happy that I didn’t fall victim to this scam. I received a referral and connected with a legitimate company that is now on their way to move me in a professional and legitimate and legal way.
So, beware of Small Move Movers!
Fraudulent Company
I let them know I had packing materials from the previous movers, including shrink wrap and boxes, yet they insisted those items would not be needed. She was charged $400 for using half a roll of shrink wrap...Home Depot sells a lg roll for $40.00. All items were placed in the garage so they only had to take them from garage to truck. She was charged an extra $300 for long carry(I was told distance from garage to truck!) What? Sad that they take advantage of so many people! Karma will get you!

We were moving 2 big pieces of furniture a couple miles down the road into a storage unit and needed someone fast. We get a call back from Jaime. We discussed the details and she said she could price match or beat another offer to get our business. The other quote we had was $300 for the entire move (including shrink wrap/supplies/etc.). Jaime calls back and gives us a quote of "$293.25 for the whole move." The quote she sent had the contract attached, which I'll discuss later. In the quote there was a $51.75 discount for a "same day reservation discount." The quote included the labor charge for the movers along with the travel time charge. These charges were stated in the contract as well, so those were accurate charges.
The movers were from a company called Moving Forward Trucking, LLC out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. They moved our stuff, but upon arriving at the destination, they do not unload the truck until you pay the balance. The mover kept saying something about "needing to get the final price from the company" at which point we started getting a little nervous they would change the price. We were right. Final bill comes: $1,041 ...for a 2 mile move!
Naturally we try to call Jaime...no answer...after a few more tries, we actually get a receiving message that her number was no longer in service. So at this point we know we were scammed. We get a number from the movers, which turns out to be Cindy's number. She was rude from the start and blamed us because "it's all in the contract." So we look for discrepancies between what's stated in the contract and what was in our initial quote, and wow there was a lot of vague and non-specific wording, which allows them to make up the charges as they go.
They charge $1 per mile, so we asked how did we end up with $60 charged for mileage? Cindy said "that's the travel mileage charge for the movers," but the travel charge was already included in our quote! They also charged us a different $187 for an "intrastate fuel & mileage" charge, which was stated nowhere on the contract we received. They also charged $149 for an "OD Fee" and we literally got no explanation for what that was nor is an "OD Fee" referenced in the contract we received.
The other thing, that $51.75 "discount" Jaime had given us...yeah, per Cindy's words "discounts don't apply if you go over the quoted price." So there's another fraudulent business practice because OF COURSE YOU'RE GOING TO GO OVER THE QUOTED PRICE!
They also do not accept credit cards for payment, which was fishy at first but I suppose you could make the assumption that they only take cash, which other businesses do as well. But now it makes sense...no credit card transaction means you can't dispute charges and get your money back. There is one picture of part of the contract that goes over the extra charges. Note how nothing is stated about a charge for the "intrastate & mileage" for the movers. The $1/mile charge is simply stated with no clarification, so they use this to make up things as they go.
They do have a Facebook page as well under Small Move Movers. There, you can find that they have a 4.5/5 star "rating." Upon further review, you can tell that the "positive" reviews are all from fake accounts - they don't have any locations listed, no posts, no friends, and many even use stock photos! The "positive" reviews use vague language with no specifics or names. There are many of these in between the negative reviews from actual people, so it is clear that this scam company uses fake positive reviews to push down the negative reviews that expose them, making anyone who visits their page think they are a good company.
The address listed I'm sure is fake too. I searched it up, and there are other moving and storage companies associated with the address (Storage Vaults and Moving Forward), but nothing about Small Move Movers.
I wish we would have done more research, but I guess these people specifically target those who are in need of a quick move.
If you live in Florida, avoid these people like the plague. I hope more people report these people and maybe even find them and expose them in front of others. They need to be stopped. They are cowards and snakes, especially Shawn, who resorted to insulting my mom who tried to call for clarification about their address so that our lawyer could send a letter. He refused to give the address, which lets me know their listed one is most likely fake, and said he would send an attorney after her for harassment...I guess asking for an address of a company is harassment nowadays?? Regardless, he's a coward. If you've had an experience with these scammers, please report them, and call the company office! Make them nervous because they think they can keep getting away with this!

Type of a scam Moving
• Labor time 5.5h: $519.75 (as we state above, the movers physical condition and the incorrect truck selection made this much longer)
• “Shrink warp”: $750 (wrapping was supposed to be included, but only at the time of the invoice we were informed that blanket wrap was included but plastic wrap was not. They never showed up with blankets, they independently and with no consent decided to use plastic wrap. The contract did not state the additional cost of the latter. The amount charged for wrapping appears arbitrary)
• “buly item”: $150 (we assume this meant bulky, however we were not provided with any size or weight parameters defining which of our items would be considered bulky. Additionally, they did not weigh or measure our items, so this fee also appears to be arbitrary)
1. Intrastate fuel and mileage: $399 (we are uncertain as to why this fee was included as the pick-up address (1010 SW 2nd Avenue, 33130 Miami, FL) and the drop-off address (698 NE 1st Avenue, 33132, Miami, FL) are only 1.6 miles apart.
• Mileage: $60
• OD fee: $150 (We don’t know what this fee is)
• Elevator: $75
• COI: $75
We did not possess this amount of money in cash at the time, however we had no choice but to pay the invoice in order to get our furniture unloaded and kept in our possession. We attempted to complete the payment using Zelle. After the transaction initiated, Bank of America notified us that the account to which we initiated the money transfer was “detected suspicious that may be possible fraud or scam”. The movers spoke to their boss who then insisted we immediately call the bank and authorize this transaction. We complied reluctantly, out of the fear of our furniture being taken away from us. After the payment was processed, the movers proceeded to unload the furniture.
