Type of a scam Utility
I was asked if I was the homeowner of my parent's home. I said yes (I'm not, and I now live out of state, but my cell area code is from my parent's state). They started telling me facts about the property that are easily findable online (Whitepages, etc). Then the first man transferred me to a supervisor.
The supervisor repeated the name of the company when prompted as Smart Energy Solution. I started googling for this and found: https://smartenergysolution.com/. Some clicks around the website shows the company is not accredited by BBB, it's based in Texas apparently (though the first guy said Boston), and it's only this front page with that domain address. Everything else is https://jupiterx.artbees.net/energy/. Further, the contact us page has filler content (the phone number is (123) 456-7890).
I don't know how the scam works beyond that because I told him I knew it was a scam (he said: "What?! We didn't even ask you for personal information like your SS number or credit card number). I have received a number of these calls recently (for solar panels, like this one, or about selling my house - which I do not have, etc).
