On January 17, 2018 I received a phone call from someone claiming to be a representative of Washington Gas, my natural gas provider, informing me about eligibility for a discount and supposedly signing me up. On January 30, 2018, I received a letter from Washington Gas informing me that I had requested that my service be switched to Smart One Energy LLC. This attempt to switch my service was fraudulent. When I went back and checked the phone number I was called from, it turns out to be a non-existent number, meaning the Smart One Energy representative spoofed a phone number that isn't theirs.
