I purchased an inexpensive airline ticket from BDL-IAD. I did not receive the check-n email 24 hirs prior. Upon arriving at the airport United informed me that I did not have a reservation with them. I proceeded to call SmartCheapFares. They informed me that the airline had cancelled my ticket due to suspicion of fraud. They did offer to sell me another ticket 3 times the original price. They were dishonest by telling me that the airline had cancelled the ticket and credited my credit card because I never provided that information to the airline. I never spoke with the airline prior to arriving at the airport. Needless to say, I did not travel because to me this was a tactic of getting panicked passengers to be reactive and purchase the higher price ticket.
