Went to website to inquire about a Westie puppy on Friday February 19th 2021. They sent an email back asking several questions that led us to believe they were real. We emailed back and forth and they said they could send the puppy as soon as we sent them money. They wanted us to go through Zelle.com or American Express prepaid cards. We used the American Express prepaid cards to send them $800. They called and told us they would send us the puppy the next day, but did not give specifics. Then today February 20th, they sent an email from the shipper Prime Pet Ways that the dog would need a specialized heated crate due to the cold and asked for an additional $1300 that they said they would refund as soon as the pet was delivered. It was then we realized it was a scam as it should be the shippers responsibility to pay such fees. We then tried to call them and all numbers were disconnected or would not be answered. We called on the American Express cards and they spent the money immediately after we sent them the cards which makes sense, but is unfortunate.
