An account with them was opened in my daughters name with my debit card number! Apparently when you are shopping online an offer to save a random amount of money on the product you are purchasing pops up and if you click on it, then it automatically enrolls you in their discount program and charges you $19 every month after your initial purchase. I feel this is a scam and should not be allowed. I chatted online with someone from this company and they cancelled the membership and claim I will be refunded in 3-5 business days. Also, while I was chatting with this person on their website I gave them the last four numbers of my debit card because they couldn’t locate an account for me with my email address. They still couldn’t find an account matching my email and asked for my entire debit card number. Which I absolutely refused to do! Next thing I know they ask if I know anyone named….(my daughter’s name). I said yes that is my daughter. I asked my daughter about it and she had never hear of SmartPlus before let alone sing up with them using my debit card! I feel that this is a way of fishing for information…especially since they asked for my entire debit card number. Why would I give that to them when it was used without authorization in the first place. SmartyPlus appears to be very shady and suspicious in my opinion. I had planned to upload a copy of the transcripts of my chat with this employee for SmartyPlus. However they were never emailed to me like promised!
