Door to door coupon lying about local high school with no addresses to redeem coupons as promised

A kid approached my door today and asked if I'd like to help him by buying these so called discount cards. I know I'm an [censored] for not suspecting anything but at this time my neighborhood is doing a lot of community things I don't keep track of so I just assumed it was the same. Long story short, kid told me this is a non profit org that he got from his coach that'll help him be able to fly out to Vegas to go and play basketball out there. I unfortunately my next door neighbor and I fell right in their trap as we paid the kid $20 each. Like an [censored] I only did the research after the transaction to find out it was a common scam. For those wondering, No, you can not get the money back unfortunately but it is still best to file a claim to your bank just to be safe.

I thought I was donating to a good cause only to discover that these coupons don't work anywhere they say they are supposed to work. I'm so disappointed, I know it wasn't that much money but I would have felt better about donating that money to an animal rescue instead. These are the kind of things that make you want to be suspicious about everything.

I bought a "SmartRaisers" neighborhood discount card (the same in the other posts on this page) from a kid selling them door to door, for $20. We don’t go out much but if we saved a few bucks here and there it would pay for itself, and I have no problem helping out a community group. We went to use it for a phone order for a Round Table pizza, one of the businesses on the card, and the girl on the phone had no idea what it was. She suggested we look at the website, but there was nothing there either. The website asked for a code, but there is no code on the discount card, or even an address for the businesses that allegedly support it. We have many of the businesses local to here, but there’s not a Quizno’s in this county, and only three in L.A. The website for the card gives no information for use and an activation code promises an e-mail that never arrives. The only other information on the site is a referral to a phone number, where a bored girl answers and says it must be an IT problem, so says that someone will get back to me and of course that never happened. So I got scammed. The one time I thought I could help out a local organization and it was only for thieves. I suppose it’s a lesson for next time or someone else. Beware!

I think the dead ringer for me this was a scam was when I thought back and the Venmo QR code didn't work. Then right after he got me, he left. That was really weird.

This card will not get you anything. If someone trys to sell it to you call the police. All fake all bad don't waste your money

Some kid sold me a $20 coupon card for a fundraiser. It claims you get access to an coupon app. When redeeming I connected my back account for an “echeck” via plaid but then they later asked me to put my bank account number outside of the plaid system. Website name is members.digital and smart rewards.info

SmartRaisers Support

SmartRaisers is providing discount cards to people posing as school students who cannot seem to recall which school they are representing. These cards are sold to unsuspecting customers for $20 each. The reverse of the four-part card is full of buy one get one free stickers for places like Subway, Fridays, Dairy Queen, Burger King, Arbys, Pollo Loco, Round Table Pizza, Etc.

The problem is, none of these locations accept these stickers as there is no redemption code or other information which tells the location what this is or what to do with it.

The card(s) also come with a 3-day two-night hotel getaway to either Las Vegas, New York, Florida, California, Texas, Arizona, and much more.

The problem is, when you go to register your card online, they hit you for another $20. When you go to register for the hotel stay, you have to pay more money.

They tell you to fold the cards so they fit into your wallet. The only problem with this is that they will become separated and completely void.

I contacted the toll-free number on their website and was told someone would get back to me. They never did.
