I was on my instagram account when I saw an ad featured by Instagram company itself on my feed. The account that was advertising was @sneakerbalance. The account had around 9,000 followers. The advertisement they were running for was a giveaway to buy a pair of Air Jordan 1 "Off-White Chicago's" for the price of $300.00 (around retail price). Since the shoes are very valuable (they are worth around $3,000, I decided to give it a shot and enter the giveaway. To enter the giveaway, I had to dm the account a picture of my favorite Air Jordan pair ever and say why. I did this, and then later that day on July 17, 2019, at 3:36 PM, I was informed that I was one of the giveaway winners. Upon further conversations, the account sent me multiple pictures of the shoes in hand, so I believed this was legit. Shortly after, the account sent me a link to their website www.sneakerbalance.com to complete a form confirming my order for my shoes. I entered my house address listed above, and then received an order number through an email. I then returned to the instagram dm where I was asked to send the order confirmation number, and then send payment through Zelle to a person named Eric Hayes under the email [email protected]. I sent the $300.00 on July 18, 2019, and then I was messaged that I would hear from them soon for a shipping/tracking number through USPS. However, it has been a week and I have not received anything. I have tried to contact them multiple times through my instagram accounts @mattraible and @pghsneakers; however, there has been no response. I just checked last night July 29, 2019, and the account itself will not even show up. I am desperate to get my money back. This has been so stressful for me and I do not know what to do. It is very depressing.
