I reported two incidents earlier today. I just received a third call, same type, saying "your social security number used in fraudulent activity, and I may have to appear before a Judge or Magistrate, if I don't respond and it is the last time I will be warned." It was a computer recorded message. the call I.D. said this call was from Colby, WA. I dont know if there is a town called Colby in Washington State.

a recorded message said my social security number was used in fraudulent in Texas and I needed to comply or would end up in court, threatening me. First call came this morning, from Snohomish on caller I.D. and second call came same day, this afternoon and my caller I.D. said Harrison Medical Ct. I believe there is a Harrison Hospital in Everett, Snohomish County. the message was the same regarding social security message. computer recorded message, no real person. it wanted me to press 1 to continue. I didnt. It hung up on me.

i received an automated recording on my cell phone at 2:25 pm on October 8,2020 with recording stating that this is a message from Social Security and that my social security number has been used in some suspicious activity and to learn more press 1.

i pressed 1 and a foreign woman answered the phone. i stated i just received a message from this number. She asks me what the message waa? i said, shouldn't you know? she hung up..imagine that!! i could hear noise in the background that sounded just like telemarketing. guess they got a good scam going?

I had a call from a phone number that only differed 4 numbers from my own, claiming they were from the social security office. They stated that there had been fraudulent activity reported on my SSN, and failure to respond/comply would lead to legal actions. It was an automated voice, and said to press 1 to speak with someone. So, I did. When a gentlemen answered the phone and sounded like he was from another country, I just hung up. If there was any fraud on my SSN, I don't think the SSN would call from a phone number very similar to mine.

I got a call from what he said ssn dept. Of investigation. He said my ssn was being use in illegal usage. And that I need to give him my first and last name. When I did that after he try to convince me I was involved in something bad he then wanted my zip code. His name was officer James william and his badge # *******. I hung up and called you. Is this legit call. His # was 540 538 4077. Please contact me to let me know if this is for real im 60byears old and I don't know what to do.

If someone calls you telling you your social security number will be canceled or suspended...etc. Don't call them back dont do anything except report it. Your social security number only expires when you do.
