I applied for a job on indeed.com. I was contacted by phone and directed to download MS Teams for an interview. The lady asked basic interview questions. She also asked for my name, address & phone #. Since that information was already on my resume, I thought it would be ok to repeat it. At the conclusion, after several minutes, she said I was approved for hire. She asked for the name of my bank to see if it was compatible with their direct deposit system. I gave her the name of the bank only. I did not provide any account numbers. She instructed me to log back into Teams at 8am in the morning to track the check that she was going to mail to me so I could buy software to do my job. I don’t see why I would need to do that since I’m not officially working for them yet.

After searching on the internet for “Solar Watt scam”, I came across other people who have reported that they have received online interviews from someone acting like they are from SolatWatt named Susan Riedel. They were asked the exact “automated” questions as me. I feel like this is a financial or identity theft SCAM.

I feel so stupid because I fell for it and provided all my information when i received the cover letter. What steps should I take after I've provided my SSN and everything to them?

I was initially contacted via text by "Stacy Curran" phone number 618-216-1033 indicating that the resume I submitted for a remote administrative assistant/Data Entry Clerk position was approved. (I recently submitted several resumes via my Indeed.com account and one of the resumes was for this position). The text indicated to reply once to get an interview scheduled. I responded by asking about the position and the company. The response was "following the newest online screening introduced by The Bureau of Global Human Resources, you are required to download Signal Private Messenger on your mobile device". Once it was set up I was informed that the hiring manager will be connecting with me and sent a verification code to commence an online interview/briefing and comprehensive job details. I received a message via Pilot from "David Roberts, Hiring Manager at GmbH" who confirmed the verification code and commenced a lengthy text interview and briefing of the company and the position. After responding to numerous interview questions and explaining the job position and what my duties would be, He stated that I would be reporting to him, and that I would receive an offer letter first thing in the morning. He then indicated that he needed the name of my bank so they could see if it "tallies" with the company's official salary payment accounts, stating that Digital banks were not valid, only bank branch savings/checking institutions. (First Red Flag). I informed him that I was not comfortable providing that information until I received the offer letter. He responded that they just needed the name of the bank, not any banking information, to get the paper work for the cover letter. Unfortunately, I gave the name of my bank. He then continued to go through what the job duties entailed and the benefits program. He then stated they would send me a check to cover the cost of the computer and software that I would need but needed my full name and address for proper documentation compliance with the "onboarding process" and for the mailing of the check for the computer. At this point, I ended the conversation, this was the final red flag that this was not a legitimate interview.

This literally JUST happened to me, I got my Offer Letter in the email this morning, and had to check with them at 8am my time today and again tomorrow. I feel so dumb and it did actually sound way to go to be true. but everything you just stated is exactly what happened to me, same phone number but said her name was Judy Himes, tried looking her on google said she has been missing since 1965..im so mad now

I faced the same exact situation. I feel so stupid now.
