Was trying to renew my security software, MalwareBytes online. A pop-up appeared on the screen asking whether I was interested in a lifetime subscription and gave me a number to call. I was having problems with my computer and they offered to try and fix it if I would let them log on to my computer. Unfortunately, I did and called their number. I ended up paying $340 for Malwarebytes renewal and unlimited computer help any time I needed it. I paid by credit card. The paid invoice I received , however, made no mention of Malwarebytes service and after I called them the company said they would refund my money. Never happened. Malwarebytes confirmed that they DO NOT offer lifetime subscriptions and the only legitimate company SolutionsRUs is in Houston, doesn't offer security software and doesn't have any operations in Washington State.
