Same set up as everyone above. And the toner they sent sucks. In December, we received another shipment, that of course we had not ordered. Unbeknownst to the front desk lady, she signed for it. I happened to walk out when FedEx was there, and denied the shipment. FedEx said okay. Today I had an extremely rude phone call from Jennifer. She was literally yelling at me. I asked her to stop and be respectful. She refused to stop yelling. I hung up on her. We are a law office, and Jennifer was trying to tell me how we are legally responsible for a shipment, that we denied. I said no we aren't. Jennifer wanted me to prove that we denied the shipment. I told her that's between her and FedEx. She is going to get another earful from me, should she try to call back.

Jennifer is a fake name she uses I know the entire in and out of this company J used to work there unfortunately and when J saw the scamming I left the owners name is Peter Aldridge they have been doing it for years and keep changing the name he needs to be charged

I Was cold called online, I was stupid enough to give them a try. They sent the first box(Tims Card) and I paid for it. Later I received another box when I called they said they were supposed to have originally sent 2 Boxes. I paid for both and told them to stop sending cartridges. The second box (2 Cartridges) they sent don't work, I tried to call to return them and got a message saying they were closed for summer vacations, no email, no chat! They just sent another box of 2, I am not paying for any of these. The CRA does not recognize the HST# on the invoice

Cold-call, sold me on ink cartridge that lasts very long time. I agreed and said yes. They sent me a box with 1 cartridge. I think they said it was 90-day term. after 90 days. I paid via cc.
They call back again saying "they were suppose to send 2 inks but only sent one and also forgot to send the gift card. let me send the second one that way you also get the LCBO gift card" (me thinking ok, its free I guess)
I get the second ink, then get an invoice!. I called back today, talked to Jennifer. I said I didn't expect you would bill me for this, she said "sure we did. It was agreed when we first talked, it was part of the promo" absolutely not! and I can't return it and when I said you guys are scamming people "we'll see you in court if you don't pay for it." she said. :(

Now they are calling themselves CANADAWIDE PRODUCTS. Same scam. They have used the following names: ROSE PAPER INC, PERTH PAPER INC., CHESTER CROSS, WILSON WOODS, WILLIAMS MICHAEL OLIVER, CANADIAN INDUSTRIAL INK AND SOMERSET-WEST. I am sure there are other names. They call to provide toner and then start sending you product you didn't order. HOWEVER their invoices do not list their corporate name that MUST legally show with their HST number. Call them on it and complain to CRA. Owner is showing as Peter T. Aldridge.

It’s literally 4-5 people in an office the owner is Peter they have beeen scammming people for years and trying to force people to take their [censored] I know all of them personally I tried to bring to the attention of authorities a few years ago and it just got dismissed because not enough businesses came forward but I know he was making 50-60000 a month and a few years ago as high as 120k MONTHLY scamming these companies something should be done but you all need to come together

Everything everyone is saying about them is happening to me. Now they're threatening to go to court...
I kept telling her they are fraudulent and Jennifer kept raising her voice at me. Then proceeds to call my co-worker and tell her I'm immature..how immature can she be! Especially coming from a scam company!
Best part: after I explained what I was told on the phone "we forgot the promo was for 2 cartridges, we'll send you the second one"
Me: do we pay extra?
SW: "No"
Me: "(not knowing they were a scam company) "sure!"
Jennifer has the nerve to say: "it's a good thing we record our calls, you're gonna let your boss go to court over $200...
-that's when I told her to pull up the recording.
J: "I don't have to do anything, and when I prove you wrong in court. Look at the invoice, it says one, where does it say this promotion"

-at one point, I had to tell over her to say "can you stop talking so I can speak!?"

There is no court I used to work there until I realized the scamming they threaten but they are the ones who would be in trouble that’s all it is an empty threat call the police and tell them eventually this man will get what he deserves

Did you ever paying for the second cartridge? Whatever happened? Had the same thing happened to me!

Just let them know that their HST number doesn't match CRA records (which it doesn't) ; they'll leave you alone.

I recently had the exact same experience as many of the stories about. I was cold called and told that their toner would do 4 x as many our current toner. I fell for it. They shipped one, we paid for it. Two months later I got a call that the deal was actually for two and they forgot to ship the second one. I was bit hesitant but said ok. Each box had an LCBO GC in them as well. They sent the second one, we paid. Now another two months later two more toner show up at our door. I tied calling for two days before someone would talk to me. In the meantime I came hear and read all of these stories so I prepared what happened next. She told me the deal was for two twin packs. I explained I did not agree to that and if that was the case then why didn't they send 4 on the first shipment. She said to have my manager call her and I said "no I'm dealing with this and I'd like you come these up". She refused to send someone to pick them up and and started yelling at me. After I said we weren't going to pay any invoice, she hung up on me. So the toners will sit in shipping for a month and if they aren't picked up, we have two free toners.

This company called me in March and said that they have really great and long lasting ink and they would like my business to try it ON THEM. I stupidly agreed as they did not tell me a cost and did not say that we would owe anything. The toner got shipped and came with a packing slip that said $0 and THANK YOU. A month later, I get an invoice in the mail that says I owe $213.57 for ONE cartridge. I tried emailing them but of course their email bounces back as not real. Someone called me today, in JUNE and said I owe them the money. I said that I was never told that I would owe money and the lady I spoke with told me that it was free. She said that is not true and that we owe the money asap. I said then why are you all over the internet as a scam? They said " I am sure we can google your company too and find bad things." Very unprofessional. If they call you, do not agree to anything. SCAM SCAM SCAM

SELLING ME ONE TONER AND FORCING ME TO BUY ANOTHER ONE?!?!?!?!?!? WITH MORE SHIPPING COSTS THAT WERE NOT ADVERTISED IN THE FIRST PLACE!

I thought we could have had a great relationship with your supplying me with toner.

Scam! The sent me one ink… Then called back a month later to say I was supposed to buy two! Forcing me to pay for another one!

Same experience as everyone else here. Contacted in January by "Janet Crawford". Same spiel about how great their toners were, how long they lasted. Told me I would receive 1 in the mail and would be able to cancel if I didn't like the toner and send it back no questions asked. Received the wrong toner. They resent me 2 toners and also billed me for 2 when it was supposed to be a replacement. I paid both of those thinking that this was finally over. NOPE they sent 2 additional cartridges. When I tried calling, no answer. I tried emailing and it was returned to me. Tried emailing off their website and it was taken down by them. Finally got through via phone. Super rude receptionist (if that is even what she is) and she said my sales rep would call back. She did and tried to tell me that the pricing was based on 4 cartridges and billed 4 times. She's a complete lunatic. I was supposed to receive one for $185 and they billed me $825.25. Oh, they did provide 2 $5.00 Tim Horton's cards though. When I stated that I wasn't paying for this and I didn't order it she said "see you in court" just as rude as can be. BEWARE

Don’t pay there is no court order promise you they are scammers I know I used to work there

So when's the court date I'd like to attend too.

I have had the EXACT SAME experience as everyone who has reported here. They called me in Jan 2021, and for the first time ever - I listened to their spiel :( Much to my dismay, I rec'd the first toner (which was supposed to be exceptionally high quality) -which after 20days it appears to already be running out. The bill was OVER $200 and then they sent me the 2nd toner which was "supposed to have" been shipped with the first. I CALLED them immediately and the person (who was quite pissy) assured me that I would NOT be charged for the 2nd toner. I have now rec'd my 2nd invoice which I WILL NOT BE PAYING. I am KEEPING my free toner. PS I called all their phone numbers today APRIL 12, 2021 AND google says they are PERMANENTLY CLOSED, and there is no answer on their phone lines! SHOCKER! :/

I'm actually enjoying playing their game during lockdown. Hope they keep sending LCBO cards and more ink cause I'm not paying them anything. If they worked just half as hard trying to run a real business they might make some real money...check the GST # with CRA it's bogus too.

This business sent me a toner, which we paid for. Then called me to let me know it they were supposed to send me a free one and forgot. I specifically said we are NOT paying for the second toner and she assured me it would be of no charge. Today I got an invoice for the second toner. I called an the EXTREMELY rude person on yelled at me and told me she never called about the free one. She told me to go have a coffee.

What a scam and HORRIFIC business. Please be aware of this company and DO NOT buy anything from them!

I had a call before xmas2020 saying that if we tried their toner that lasted 3-4 x longer than other toners, this would be free of charge and I would get an LCBO gift card. I spoke to my manager after agreeing to try toner over phone and he advised me that this was probably a scam and to watch for their invoice. Sure enough, this invoice came in at over $200 (my supplier charges about $50) and when I spoke to her, she yelled (actually yelling) and was very rude stating WHY WOULD WE GIVE AWAY CARTRIDGES? She proceeded to call again at least 3 x whereas she finally agreed to re-stock at a $80 fee (which we declined) and held fast to just wanting to return cartridge and NOT get invoiced. Around the 5th call from her, she asked me if I still had the gift card ($10 LCBO) and when I told her I did, she advised they would accept the return then hung up on me before I could get any shipping info or return number. I am now sending back and also looking towards getting more rude phone calls with some type of charge associated for this return.

I feel like I have become part of the exclusive club of being duped by "Somerset-West". They sent me toners I didn't order (using the infamous "twin pack" strategy), and that are terrible quality. And then they invoice me exorbitant prices and yell at me on the phone to try to guilt me into paying them. Don't fall for their tactics, and if you gave them a credit card, cancel your card because they will keep billing it.

I'm thoroughly impressed that this Canadian "company" (under many names - Rose Paper, Cdn Industrial Ink also) has been doing this to Canadian victims for at least three years now without being stopped.

Update: They called me back again to see if I was paying, I said "no", they hung up immediately, and then a week later Fed Ex showed up without notice to pick up the cartridge for Somerset-West. I still hadn't used the cartridge (that I didn't order in the first place), so I gave the unused cartridge to the delivery driver for return.

I have figured out what to do with this company.

Don't pay the invoices, and don't waste your time and money returning anything back to them. Keep the toner you didn't agree to purchase, and ignore them. They can't do anything about it. (This is why she yells at you... because they have no right to collect money and it is a tactic to guilt you)

I talked to Jordana this week and initially was interested. She spoke really fast(a common trick for scam artists), told me how great her toner cartridges are and told me about the credits I could get for returning cartridges. She told me she was going to send me a gift card, which I thought was really odd since I hadn't ordered anything. I left the call a little overwhelmed with information but surprisingly left with no knowledge of the company name, no phone number, no information except that she was going to send me a gift card and a brochure. Today I received a toner cartridge in the mail. I immediately called the company and told them it was a mistake. When I first spoke to Jordana I told her that we only had one printer that wasn't leased with an ink contract and that the toners usually lasted a almost a year so I had no need for a cartridge. Well, she sent me a cartridge anyways, and now expects me to pay over $200 for it. She was incredibly rude to me on the phone, claiming I "100% knew that a cartridge was coming". I will admit I am not good with phone salespeople, and maybe she thought I had OKed sending a cartridge; but I never asked for a cartridge and even if there was an honest misunderstanding, I think that is the company's fault, not mine. On top of it all, she sent me the wrong model cartridge so I can't use it anyways. When I called to try to return the cartridge she told me there would be an over $80 restocking fee to send it back. Also JORDANA told me she was the manager and had been working there for 18 years. Given the fact that lots of other reviews have Jennifer Davis as manager I feel like part or all of this is a bold faced lie. Also she said the same phrase that other reviewers have quoted Jennifer Davis as saying, that she "would not risk her job" and say what she said to me.

The worst thing is they will be able to keep doing this because they aren't clear about who they are when they call and then they send you a product and charge you before you are able to find out how fishy they actually are. So sadly I'm afraid all these reviews will do it is fuel the fire of post-scam outrage.

This company called to offer me a toner, they then called me a month later after paying the outrageous bill (for something is didnt agree to but had the product so...) and told me that they should have sent me two but there was so many orders that they were backordered, so she (Jennifer Davis the apparent manager) was sending me the backordered one and would throw in a lcbo card for the long wait...*eye roll*, I reiterated that this was free and i wouldnt be charged and she agreed. I received the extra toner. and not long after ANOTHER bill for over $200, for 1 toner? I called to say there must be an error as i was told that i would not be billed as this was just a back ordered issue, and they took my info and said that someone would call me back, well today Jennifer called and changed her story and said that she wouldnt risk her job to say those things to me, but could offer me a discount, i said no i wasnt paying the bill and would return it, she refused and said the return wouldnt be accepted. I released the call, this company is flat out a scam. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau as well.

I received a call just before Christmas telling me about their product. That it would last for 4 times as long as the cartridges I presently use. I thought okay one cartridge would be fine to try. They sent out one cartridge and on $10.00 LCBO Gift card. I paid my bill and knew for the price I paid I would not repurchase. I received a call this week and the girl apologized on the phone saying that there was suppose to be to cartridges in the box and they would be sending me out one and would send a LCBO gift card also. I thought that is great for the outrageous price I was charged I actually get two cartridges so I called just to verify that as there was an new Invoice number on the packing slip and the girl said oh no you will be charged so a second one. She came up with an thing saying oh we only allow orders of two for their introductory offer. I only order one I paid for it and now I am sending back the new one and will not be paying the second Invoice. She was insulted I told her that her company was trying to scam me.
Please do something about this company. I am just glad I didn't give them a credit card number.

100% SCAM. Our experience is the same as everyone else. Jennifer Davis is a rude, obnoxious person who is basically trying to charge us for a toner that we haven't even opened. I tried to return it via UPS and the address did not accept returns and sent it back. I just spoke w Jennifer today (5 Feb 2021; she calls with a 'private caller' number-I wonder why) and said they would not accept the cartridge back unless we pay $56+ to return it. We are not paying for an item we do not plan to use. Sounds like an ultimatum to me. Shame on you, Jennifer. Don't call us again!

Exactly the same thing happened to our company, mistake made second inks sent, then another invoice, when I called told that you can only order 2 @ discounted price blah blah...then the catalog phone call, no catalog came just more inks, when confronted Jennifer Davis would not accept the return and was extremely rude and told me she was going to send us to collections and hung up on me, good try Jennifer Davis, good try, reported them to the police. ???

BTW, we have some undercover police at our premises viewing the mall across the way and we are quite friendly with them, mentioned that I had been scammed, they are going to look into it, so beware Peter & Jennifer ? This time someone is actually doing something.
