I was contacted via email with the title LinkedIn in subject line. I am a graphic designer, so I apply all the time at LinkedIn and Indeed. I filled out a 14 question 'test' and submitted it. They said I am hired and sent a contract, I signed for $35.00 per hour as a graphic designer. They asked for my address to ship a laptop and stated someone had to sign for it. They sent a pdf for a signing bonus check for $3,800 and wanted me to set up the mobile deposit and directions to print and scan it. As soon as TrueStone Credit Union reviewed it, it was tagged as FRAUD and my online bank account was frozen. Today I went to the Credit Union with the check printouts and he took one look at it and said it is most likely a scam. There was no business address or phone numbers. In some places the name was listed as "Lands" and sometimes just "Land". No phone calls or other ways to contact them and I looked at their website, Facebook page and LinkedIn Monday night, Feb. 6, when they first contacted me. And again yesterday, Feb. 7. Today that information is gone, but the website still opens. I kept printout and electronic files of those "checks". It says not to give any personal information here, so I did not attach the pdf of the check. But if someone wants it, I will sent it.
