In April 2023 whilst doing my taxes I discovered Spectrum honored my account cancellation for the month of August 2022 but began charging me again on September 30, 2022.
When I noticed the charge from Spectrum on my Chase Saphire credit card I filed a dispute and a one month $79.99 refund was issued in response to the dispute.
Then in May 2023 Spectrum billed me for the April bill again and another charge for May. I discovered this on June 30 and called them to dispute the charges.I was told they would refund my money back to September 30, 2022.
On July 13 I saw that no credit had been issued and contacted both companies. I was on the phone for hours and they said they would only credit back to the March charges.
Again no credits appeared on my Chase bill.
I called on August 21, 2023 and after over an hour on the phone I was disconnected though they did tell me three times they would only issue a credit for three months but would only go back to April 30 now and there is not a credit issued as of today August 23.
I cancelled my account with Spectrum when I moved July 28. 2022 and returned the leased equipment. They should not charge me for services I did not use.
The Chase card they were billing on (ending in 6000) was cancelled by Chase several years earlier due to fraudulent activity they caught so they were billing on an account that did not exit per Chase.
I am 65 years old and suffer with Lyme Disease. I am 70% disabled and unable to work outside the home. I need this money. I did my part to cancel this. Please help me.
