Do not order delivery from Spice Venue in Storrs Mansfield, CT or use the Toast app for delivery. If you do, and something is wrong, you will NEVER get your money back. This is how I know...I order delivery take-out via Toast app. Spice Venue first called me to tell me they were out of something. No problem, I selected something else. Then they called back ~20 minutes later to let me know they didn't have a delivery driver and couldn't deliver my food. Had to step out of a meeting to go and pick up the food. Annoying and inconvenient. Had to rush to get back to meeting. I *tried* to call Spice Venue back later that day after my meeting ended to request a refund of the delivery fee and driver tip (since they didn't deliver my food). I wasn't asking for the total amount, just the delivery fee and driver tip. I used the same number that popped up on my caller ID when Spice Venue called me earlier in the day AND that is publicly listed on the internet. However, it rings to a Mr G's in New London, CT, about an hour away. At this point, I realized I have no way to contact the restaurant, as I was in town for a meeting and do not live in the area. So, I contact Toast app support for help. Long story short, after several emails spanning several days, Toast informs me that they too cannot get in contact with the restaurant despite numerous attempts, that they are "unable to issue a refund without permission from the restaurant," and that I "might consider reaching out to my bank for a final resolution." Basically, we can't help you. Maybe your bank can? I will never order delivery from Spice Venue again. And, I will never use the Toast app again to order any food. Both the restaurant and the Toast app are scamming people out of money.
