Spoofing Amazon Reports & Reviews (11)

I was told by a recording that my Amazon account had been charged 750 some dollars and of I wanted to dispute this I should press 1. I pressed 1 and an individual tried to get my personal information and hung up when I wouldn't comply.

They leave a message that you owe 400 for purchase thru Amazon of Niki shoes. If you didn't order please call. Which I didn't order of course. The line rings busy when I call to see what else they say.

This is not the only time they have attempted this.

The scammers sent me an email stating that someone had charged something using my Amazon account and I should call immediately, so I did and the next thing I know I’m confirming my social security number. I called the bank and got a new bank card, but they still have my SS number

Computer advised me that they believe someone used my Amazon account. I pressed 1 to speak to a representative who told me someone used my account to purchase an iPhone. She asked me if I made the purchase. I said no. She then asked me to confirm that I did not purchase the iPhone, and I responded, 'that is correct'. I was waiting for her to ask me for an account number or other personal information so I could call her on the scam. But instead, she told me she would remove the purchase from my account and would call me if there were any other issues. Then she hung up. This call came at 4:30pm (ET) on Friday, January 29. My caller ID showed the number calling was Frontier WC 5G2 at 260-432-8549.

A female electronic voice said she was from Amazon and they had noticed some suspicious activity on my account. A new purchase in the amount of (about) $763.00 was put onto my account in the past three days. I was told to press 1 for her to repeat the message; push 2 to dispute it; or push 3 to confirm. I did nothing and the caller hung up.

On 9/4/20 I received a phone message from Amazon about 11:30 am stating a purchase was being made with my credit card under my account for $ 399.00 and if this was not mine to call and report otherwise they would process it. I called them back about 5:30 pm. They said the same thing. I asked about the last 4 digits of the credit card used. He said he could not tell me. I asked what was bought. He could not tell me. I said well how can I tell you if I made the purchase if I don't know what was purchased? He said I could go to Amazon.com to file a cancellation of the purchase. He wanted me to use my computer or Smart phone. I said I had neither and he hung up. I called my credit card company and no purchase was made.

Caller said we had made a 279.00 purchace on Amazon on our Visa. If we did we didn't need to call back but if not to call that number. When I called it the man was hard to understand. I only said I received a call from this number. I hung up when I couldn't understand him. I called right back and it only went to voicemail. I know I haven't made a big purchase so was already sceptical.

This scammer called me stating that unless I called within 48 hours I would be charged 700.00+

I did not call or give any information.

I received a phone call from a automated system saying that it was Amazon and that my account was used to make a purchase in Columbus Ohio from a web IP address ##.##.##.##.## and that if it wasn't me to press 1. I then pressed 1 and a second recording stated that my account had been frozen, then stated the same IP address and a dollar amount of the purchase and asked me to press 1 again if I did not make the purchase. When I pressed 1 the second time I was connected to a "Amazon customer service representative", the male with a very thick accent stated that he was from Amazon and that my account had been frozen. He then asked for my name to which I gave him a fake name (as I don't have a Amazon account to begin with) but wanted to see what he would say. He then stated that my account had been frozen due to a purchase from the previous info on the recording. He then asked me what devices I use to normally access my Amazon account? When I stated that it was funny because I don't have a account he hung up on me.

I was left a message to go to RetailIncome.org to work from home with Amazon and make $27.50 an hour doing so.
