A buyer contacted us by text to purchase a piece of equipment we advertised in the Farmer's Exchange. We received a check from Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery INC. 5005 Arlington Centre BLVD. Columbus, Ohio 43220. The bank name is Huntington Private Banking. The check arrived via priority mail with a return address from Wollam Construction 656 W 9400 S. Sandy, Utah 84070 for an incorrect amount. The agreed amount was $2000.00, which was a payment of $1000 to us and then we were to give cash, $1000, to the company the buyer had arranged to transport the oversized item to Missouri. The check amount was "just a little off" $2000.25. The buyer refused to talk via phone about any of the details for the piece of equipment or sale, "I can't hear well". In addition, very few details about the equipment were exchanged. When asked about why the check was written from Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, INC the buyer stated he was in medical sales and he was owed money from them, "so I just had them write the check to you". The tracking number identified the package being sent from Chiloquin, OR 97624 and delivered to our home. Our bank said don't cash! Both companies in Columbus, OH and Sandy, UT can be googled. We didn't contact them. The cell phone used to contact us had a area code prefix from Oregon. We did not cash the check. We blocked the number on our phone.
