They called and said that they were calling from the Social Security administration and that the Social Security number they were calling about was linked to fraudulent activity and that it was reported to the police and that I had to press one to speak to someone that they were going to give me a chance to clarify the information and verify before they sent an officer to arrest me

A call was made to me from a local number and thinking it was my dr, I answered it. A voice said my social security number was connected to something fraudulent and I need to push 1. I spoke to a woman and asked her what gave her the right to fraudulently call me and say they were from social security? She hung up.

There is a man, foreign accent, calling from a local phone number on a recording, stating he is an Officer from Social Security reporting that there is criminal activity on my SS# and Name, its imperative and I need to call and speak with him or press "1" for further information. If you press "1" it is silent for a while and then phone disconnects. I tried to call it back and it is a dell phone that goes right to voicemail, but the mailbox is full. 260-804-9588 is the number that showed when calling.

Received a call from 260-460-8630 and the caller stated my social security number has been compromised and to press 1 for additional information. Just to see what this was related to and suspecting it was a scam, I pressed 1 and an Indian speaking man who said he wanted to give me information and I told him I think you are a scammer and quickly told me I lived in Logansport and gave my spouse's name (which were both correct) and then said "your birthdate is 11/2/74 and you are 46 correct?" I said no, so I know you are scammer especially since I know the Social Security Administration would not be calling me to report my SSN had been compromised. He got angry and said I will no argue with you and if you want to hang up then hang up, which I promptly did. I know my name and my spouse's name and her date of birth and the city we live in are easy to find online, but when he gave me the her birthdate mine, this really validated my initial thought....Scammer!

The man said i need to cooperate with him over fraudulent activities and if i did not they would start legal charges. My phone number isn't in my name and isn't linked to my social security number and every time i asked them to provide me with the social security number they have for me, they couldn't so he said if i dont want them to start legal action against me i better cooperate. I told them a sherrif lives next door so i could go get him and you can speak to him about your scam and the next thing i knew the man hung up.
