I received an email from Arianne Stevens stating she viewed my resume on Indeed and offered me a remote job for Sportiqe Apparel. After interviewing via Skype messenger, she officially offered me the job and had me fill out a W4 form in which I entered my social security. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to get supplies for the job (i.e. laptop, phone, internet router, software, etc.) and that the company would pay for it. I was sent an email with a check made out to me for $3,282.00 and was told to print it, cut it out, and deposit it into my Chase account via camera deposit on the mobile app. After I let her know the funds would not be available for a week, she asked me to cover the funds and that I would be reimbursed. I declined and let her know I wanted to wait until the funds became available to proceed with purchasing said supplies. Three to four days later, the check bounced because the account closed. I reached out to her regarding the situation and she did not respond. I reached out to her a few more times afterward and was still left with no answer. Since then, the profile I was speaking to has changed their profile picture and their name. I am worried because I provided private information when filling out the W4.
