I was contacted by Joseph Laine, 1-844-243-4991, on March 6, 2017 claiming to be representing Spot Cash, Amherst, NY and demanding that I pay $200 a month for 3 months on a loan of $1000-$1200 (he couldn’t seem to give the same dollar amount twice in a row). He left a return call number of 1-855-206-4702 and threatened to take my land, my house and my vehicle if I did not pay him immediately. He called me a liar, a thief, a cheat and was totally abusive. He has somehow obtained my social security number, which I did not give Spot Cash or any other online lending agency so I assume his method of getting it was illegal. He also appears to have a copy of the deed to my land, which is co-owned by myself (age 74) and my brother (age 70). He claims that the debt involved is owed by myself and a second party with the same name as my brother, but 43 years old. I advised I would have my attorney call him and again was called a liar and told I didn’t even have an attorney. I have contacted my attorney regarding this matter but have not heard back from him at this point. It should not be my problem that this guy is trying to collect from the wrong part and I should not have to put up with his abusiveness, name calling, threatening language. He flatly refused to send me any documentation regarding this so-called bill. Personally, I would like to see him land in jail.
