I had been searching for a gun to purchase online for a few days and my father sent me a website that had a good deal on the exact one I had been looking for. The website looks pretty legitimate minus the payment method which is Zelle or Bitcoin. I continued the order, put my information in to order and received an email from [email protected] saying that my order had been received and was awaiting payment. The email appeared kind of weird as it showed no phone number or address of the business. The following day I received a text massage inquiring if I was still interested in the gun I had ordered from the site. The text message appeared to be broken English and I should have known then that something appeared off. They explained how I needed to make the payment from zelle:

“Locate quick pay with zelle and select the option to send money to an email

Zelle Email...... [email protected]

Name on zelle....David Crow

Memo....order

Upload a screenshot of payment here once you are done, Remember not to mention guns or anything gun related on zelle so that the payment/your account should not be flagged“.

I made two payments as I was not able to send more than $1000/day. He was able to see the first screenshot of $1000 immediately and he said he couldn’t see my screenshot upload of $180 the following day. They then advised me to forward the screenshots to [email protected]. I told them I understood what was happening and they wouldn’t respond to my messages any further.
