Spring-Green Lawn Care has been sending a promotion offering seven visits for lawn treatment by email and postal mail. The emails and two of the postal mailings I received quoted a price for this service of $***. A third mailing, received 4-8-21, offered the same service for $185. I responded using the postal mail return option. Then I received an email from Morgan **** at Spring-Green identified as a "pre-pay letter" which was an invoice for $***. Before paying it, I emailed Ms. **** for a clarification of some items on the invoice and then had a phone discussion with her. Following that, I received an email with a price quote that was nearly three time more than the promotional offer for the same service. After I sent a complaining email, Ms. **** told me that the original offer had "come from corporate" and they "had no control over that" and therefore would not honor the offer. That was an odd response for several reasons, including the fact that the mailing envelopes had the following return address: Spring-Green Lawn Care, Mike ********, Owner/Operator, ***** ** ***** **** ******* ** *****. The emailed offers came not form "corporate" but from *********************. Regardless of whether you call this bait and switch, misleading or dishonest, it fits the definition of a scam. They seem to be located in IL.
