I am selling my car on Craigslist.com and a buyer directed me to get a vin report at spyvinreport.com. I quickly looked up when that domain was bought because it seemed fishy. No surprise that it had been bought the day our communication started. After further inspection of the site, it had a lot of red flags.
I emailed the "buyer" back that it must have been a simple mistake, but if he doesn't reply soon, I will report him soon as well.

I posted my car for sale on Craigslist (Portland, OR). On October 31, 2017 I received a response from Todd Kelley through the Craigslist email ([email protected]) asking a few general questions about the car. I replied, thinking it was a legitimate inquiry. Then I got this message:
"Hello again,
I’d be grateful if you could purchase the report and that you pull it from carspyvin.com because they're the most accurate to me at the moment. They’re a way cheaper than a CarFax and you know how it is, every dollar you save counts. I don't want to pay for it because if it’s bad then I surely won’t buy your vehicle, but you could always show it to another customer who wants to check it out.
Hope to hear from you soon, Todd"
This was an attempt to get me to purchase a vehicle history report from this website in an attempt to steal my credit card info. I did not go through with the purchase.
