On Thankegiving Day, November 28, 2024 I called a towing service because my car would not run due to a dead battery. The name of the towing service is (if it is the truth) SQ Naw Recovery Service. The only contact information I have is the business is supposedly located in Frankfort, Illinois. The telephone number of this towing service I cannot find again on my computer and I did not write it on paper. and, after looking for any thread of information concerning this business after I was scammed, their phone number is not my in my caller id neither. Several phone calls were made because the truck driver said he could find my house. The driver used a charger to find out if he could bring my battery back to life when we at my car. No luck. The tow truck driver charged me $655.00 for extra miles he said he had to drive because, according to him, I gave him my home address incorrectly. That is a lie because I repeated my home address slowly each time. I asked him if he knew the charge would be exorbitant why did he not tell me. I refused to pay the $655.00 when, during the initial phone call, the charge would be $80.00. He replied that if I did not pay the fee, he had the legal right to impound my car. So I paid. One problem I have had all my life is I expect, in business and personal dealings, people to be fair and honest as I try to be. From this point onward. I will be different person. I hope this tale of woe will help others to avoid scams and larceny in all its hideous forms. The scammers and cheats are very good at what they do.
