The same thing has happened to me since Monday and then today let's see yesterday told me I was going to get a free MacBook pro and all these materials and this and that and then this morning they said that they needed to send me a check and if I would buy and I could keep $150 for a sign on bonus hogwash

They are not legit when they try to hire you for a remote job in the states and won’t show you their faces. They didn’t ask for personal information from me either but gave back such generic answers through the interview I could tell right then and there. And they never called me like I requested. There is another company doing the same thing called Fisker.

Day 1 (Interview) I engaged in the conversation because it seems like recruiting agencies are taking the recruitment process via call and text these days. They texted me from a 219 number and requested to skype (no audio no camera until training on zoom 🤔). They didn't request any super personal information only number and address. They said are going to set up an office location in my city and I could choose if I wanted to stay remote or go in.
Day 2 (Allegedly "Hired") They NEVER sent me an email with any details of the job offer, etc, after explaining the above. I gave them until the end of the day to do so, but still nothing. Instead, a got a random text saying "Hello" at 8:30 pm from the same number, so I blocked it. Today when I checked my Skype, they reached out to me at 8:37 pm last night from a different account with the same name. They lost me at sending a "new Macbook pro", "CHECK," and to use that check to up that whole office area. .. I should have gone with my gut instinct and not wasted my time because I knew the position that was offered didn't pay that much, not even for training 🤣, and I actually visited the website and Linkedin and didn't find that job posting. Here are some things to look out for. See attached screenshots below.

A person by the name of Terrance Brown said my resume was “approved for an interview”. Like I applied for a credit card or a loan? Anyways, I was already suspicious that they texted me a job offer as opposed to email or a phone call. They supplied a list of “positions” where as if they had actually read my resume they would know what to offer me already. Luckily I found this website and the previous post. Don’t fall for these scams.

This fake company contacted me through text about a work from home job. I researched the company on google and thought it was a legit company. It sounded shady to me yesterday when they wanted me to check in today for a check that had not been issued as of yet for office supplies. Once I checked in they wanted to confirm my name and address, which I felt shouldn't have been an issue nor the topic of the day. It also felt weird that they asked me how my night went. It felt unprofessional. Instead of confirming the information they should already have I sent a message that this feels like a scam and then there was no response. I think if I had engaged any further they would have asked for more personal information to get my money. Please be aware of this company that says their stationed in Australia.
