Type of a scam Phishing
I gave him my information, including the last four digits of my social security number. Jacob pulled my credit information and we discussed which non secured credit cards debtors I wanted to include in my efforts. The amount was $6,610.00. I was told that it would take 10 payments of $248.10 a month to help my credit score. That’s less than the amount I actually owe. Jacob answered the questions I had. I thought it was fine. Then I signed up feeling bad about being a 54 year old with bad credit and how wonderful it would be to clear my name.
When I re read the initial email I discovered that it was from a Hotmail account.
I called up my debtors and discovered that there’s no record of my debt because it’s been so long.
Doc Pros would have been charging me for initial agreement sign up fee on a monthly basis plus another fifty dollars a month for legal services.
They informed me that without debt collectors written notifications they would not be able to serve me.
When I reached out to them about this very real problem, they ignored me.
I called, emailed and texted. No response. Then I got assertive and finally got a phone call from them. She scolded me for my conduct in handling the matter. She explained that they didn’t want me as a client. She verbally said that they were destroying my file. I asked for a written statement saying that my agreement with them was null and void. If I don’t get that statement then I will know that they are certainly a scam.
I feel violated.
