I went to the website to take a look at the puppies they had available. I filled out a form expressing interest in a particular puppy named "Sally." Hours later the company emailed me saying "Sally" was still available and send me new photos and one video of the puppy. We had an exchange over email and I was assured that the puppy's vaccination and lineage records would be shipped to me with the dog. The only information on the website was one photo and the age and gender of each dog. I was told in the emails that the shipping would be free because the so-called "elderly couple" was expecting a new litter soon so the puppies were half price ($800). The scammer claimed that they both have other jobs and could not care for these puppies with the new litter of puppies coming in so this is the reason the puppies were so cheap. They also claimed to have some sort of coupon to ship four puppies for free for a short period of time. I signed a contract (for which they likely used a fake name of "Robert Johnston" to get my faith in the transaction and I paid them via apple pay. I asked if I could see the shipping records and they said I would get them the expected day of delivery because it was too expensive to book a flight so soon, contrary to what they said about having coupons to ship four puppies for free. The scammer confirmed that they received the funds, but sent me no official receipt of anything. After I had already sent them $800 I then asked if I could speak on the phone with someone to answer questions I, unfortunately, asked too late. The person said they would call me "when they are free" if I provided a number. No one ever called. My dad thought this was suspicious so he inquired to them about the same dog "Sally." When he did, he was sent the same exact email I was sent when I inquired, he was told that she was still available and sent the same exact pictures and video I was sent, after I had already not only paid but signed a contract that specifically said " for the sale of Sally," and described the puppy as "one cocker spaniel." I emailed the company back saying that I suspected it was a fraud and asked for a refund. No one responded.
