i purchased a puppy through another company who uses star pets as the people to send out puppies. once puppy is supposedly at star pets to be sent out, star pets sends an email claiming that the puppy needs to be sent in a special thermal crate. the give prices for three crates- ranging from 900-1200 in price, highly recommending the middle which is 1098. at first i refuse to pay, eventually the sender of the puppy assures me that they will give me cash for full amount once i have the puppy. i agree to pay 800 and the sender pays 400 (that's the only amount he could come up with). so now that is paid and they send me flight info. puppy is not sent on a direct flight from atlanta to philadelphia. she is on a flight that has a layover in Dallas (suspicious). once the plane lands star pets emails me that dallas airport will not let the puppy go any further with life pet travel insurance. they give me a price of $1375. for this much needed insurance per USDA guidelines. now i know i am being scammed. I refuse to pay and contact sender with updates. sender seems confused and concerned for the puppy, urges me to pay. i refuse and research, calling airport, airline, USDA- all of which confirm my suspicion that this is a scam. I email star pets letting them know that i am not paying and I believe they are a scam. no reply. next day star pets send me an email- "we are not the ones holding you up in getting this puppy, this is required by dallas airport (pushing blame on airport), if you pay the puppy will be on her way to you.I respond they are not getting any more money from me and that they are a scam. surprise, not another response from them. because the money was actually paid by the sender (I sent money to sender via cash app) i'm convinced they will not refund the money and if i even send an email, they just won't respond. most of my emails were to the sender and i dealt with star pets via the sender. And that my friends is yet another scam that I shall file after this.
