I'm assuming this started as a phishing deal, where they found via email that we were attending an upcoming event. Frequently reached out via email to buy an email contact list for attendees at the event, with the promise for a final list after the event. Charged $350 for a fake list of "leads". Working with Paypal right now to reverse the payment. Phone is deactivated.
