This company somehow obtained my information from the US Dept of EDU. I contacted the Dept of EDU by email in regards to loan in default, this company contacted me by phone, representing themselves as a loan servicer on behalf of the Dept of EDU and was going to help me correct my loan and told me after 4 mos of payment ($1000) and 12 mos of smaller payments ($69 per month) my loan would be dissolved. After 1 month I received a letter from the new loan servicer (a real one) and began my phone calls of confusion. Basically this company is a scam, they charge you for doing a service other companies do for free and convince you the money is going toward your debt and your debt will be dissolved and it isn't. I am in the process of trying to get what money they took back, doesn't look good. My bank is doing a fraudulent investigation as well. Good grief.

This company contacted me to help me get lower payments on my student loans and take over my loan account from the company I had been paying my loans through for years. I was trying to anything to lower my payments. They have been charging me $200 for the last two months. The person that set everything up told me that my first three payments would be $200 and then it would be lowered to smaller amount after that (can't remember the exact amount). They have been withdrawing the payment from my bank account. The second person I spoke to told me that the first three payments of $200 were just service fees and that it would not be applied my student loans. He said I was not officially approved for their services yet. As I began to do my research, it appears that they are a scam. They even changed my user name and password from the previous company that I was paying my student loans through so I can think that my previous account was taken over. I honestly thought my account with the previous company was closed and taken over by Start Fresh because I was no longer able to log in. Beware!!!
