I was contacted by email, asking if I was "still interested" in the video editor role. I'm currently job hunting for that type of work so I figured it was something I had applied for and forgotten since there have been so many. They sent a questionnaire about my video editing experience and it was actually very well thought out and believable. I spent at least an hour typing out thoughtful responses to each question. The next morning (today) I woke up to a job offer! Wow, 60/hr full-time, remote work, what's not to love? Well, there were a handful of red flags: too good to be true, no actual interview, emails coming from a different domain than the one they were impersonating, etc. So I contacted the actual business being impersonated and they confirmed they are not hiring any video editors. The scammers were asking for the front and back of my driver's license but I'm sure they were going to ask for more than that if I kept playing along.
