I then did as instructed and contacted this Stefano Gabriel person via Microsoft teams. We set up an interview through Microsoft teams in which he was late to but I figured it happens to us all so I over looked it. To cut a long story short. They offered me the job/position with a 1 week training pay @ 27/hr and 35/hr thereafter, since this was a remote position job. He said they (HR/Company) were going to mail me a check to purchase the necessary equipment for a small home office as well as the software needed for my duties. The job role was IT Representative. He asked me that once I received the check, I was to deposit it into my bank account and it would clear the following day in which I was to then reach out to the third party agent/company that they were using to purchase these items. Things looked too good to be true so I did some digging and realized there has be a lot of fraudulent check scams going around asking victims to deposit checks and then use their bank cards to purchase items to then find out the check was fraudulent and would bounce leaving the victim with a huge debt (depending on how much was spent). I then reached out to Stefano Gabriel and told him I was uncomfortable with me depositing checks because of all the scams going around and for him to just have HR or the company purchase the necessary equipment and send it to the address I provided. I never heard from this person again. Keep in mind that the interview and all the details of the position was done via text through Microsoft teams. No webcam communication was done. He has then to re appear. He simply vanished.
I'm reporting this in hope that it helps others not fall victim to these employment scams. I know a lot of us out there are looking for jobs to be able to support our families and ourselves and we cant afford to own a bank or have our names/accounts tarnished over these scams/fraudulent checks.</[email protected]>
