i found a house on facebook marketplace for rent and inquired about it and was given a number to text. they seemed very nice and asked all the right questions. they told me i couldn’t look inside because they were a truck driver and out of town but that i was more than welcome to drive by or go look at the outside. i really liked it and told them i’d take it and i filled out an application that required my name and address and a lot of my information. i also paid the application fee. but it was weird because there was a for sale sign in the driveway so i looked it up and the house was online for sale and had only been listed one day so my dad thought it was a scam and that they had just taken the information off of the realtor site and reposted it to get security deposits from people. i called the realtor company this morning and checked with them and it is indeed a scam.
