Monarch Home Services did a yearly check on my heating/cooling system they installed 5 years ago. The supervisor said my heat exchange unit was cracked and no longer under warranty and if used, would fill the house with carbon monoxide and kill everyone within. The supervisor showed me a photo of a cracked unit. He then convinced me to sign a contract for $27,000 to replace the duct work and heat exchange unit. When the heat exchange unit was removed from my attic it was not cracked. I asked their own technician to show me the crack and he said there was none. I insisted on keeping the part even though they said they must have the part back because "it was under a 20 year warranty." I gave them partial payment and demanded an explanation why they lied about the heat exchange unit.
