I hired this guy after he contacted me via Yelp. He came out to my house, which I was soon selling and needed to complete some work after the inspection report was done. He promised he could do all the work immediately and cheaper than anyone in town. Now I know why. As is expected, he asked for half the money upfront ($2600) to purchase materials and get a dumpster in the driveway for the roofing crew to come a couple days later. About 2 weeks of being told every single excuse in the book, (car troubles, permitting troubles, contractor troubles, material troubles), he had sent 3 different contractors out to do work—-a plumber, an electrician, a roofing crew. The plumber and the electrician were mortified that they were affiliated with this man—afraid for their own reputations. Of course, the owner of this company was nowhere to be found when these crews needed paid, so I came out of pocket another $1100 for the plumber and electrician. The roofing crew came (pretty sure they were on something and I did not feel safe having them on my roof), did a quarter of my garage in the wrong color, then never showed up again. That’s all I have to show for my money. After every promise made, swearing on his child’s life, promising to be finished with work “tomorrow, no tomorrow afternoon, no Friday, no early next week, no 7am tomorrow, no the next day,” I ended up having to take a week and a half off work with no one showing to complete the projects. I never heard from the owner again. Until (!!) I left a bad review on Facebook warning others not to get scammed. Then I got the most terrifyingly threatening messages I have ever received. Telling me that he will ruin my life, ruin the sale of my home, put a lien on my house (for him stealing MY money???), threats to call my insurance agency and turn me in for fraud (because I gave HIM my insurance check), threats to tell the city my work was not permitted (work that his crews had done, work that I have called the permitting office and found out does not need permitting—-oh, he said he took 3 days at the permitting offices and that stalled work at my house—a giant lie, as no permits were ever pulled and no one at the office knew his name). I was forced to file a police report and have cops patrol the neighborhood until I sold my house, as I was terrified that he was going to cause physical harm to either me or my property. I have also found out he is not even licensed to work in Marion County, so any work he has done is illegal. He has robbed me of $2600. If you see complaints on BBB, he has a history of this. I have also personally been contacted by other single women he has done this to via Facebook. He has told me several times to take him to court, but his address is wrong on his website. He is working this scam through and through...almost professionally.
