Student Aid Institute consolidated my loans (for a very high fee), but somehow my tax return was still taken by the Department of Ed, even though I paid Student Aid Institute to manage my loans and keep this from happening. When I contacted the Department of Ed directly, they informed me that they had never even been approached by SAI on my behalf. The money that I paid them never went toward my loans.

Student Aid Institute I felt tricked me into giving out my banking information and then they have been automatically withdrawing money from my checking account monthly for the last year plus and that is after I paid the outrageous cost to consolidate all of my loans. After talking with my lender FedLoan Services they said that they could have done everything that the Student Aid Institute did but for no cost. I have heard that they are a scam and I want to be sure that the money I am paying each month is going to pay off my student loan debt but the number I had for them has been disconnected and the number that is listed on the website is automated and I have gotten no one when I have tried calling the past few days. If this is in fact a scam which I feel it is then this $39 / month since last April 2014 adds up to be $780 that I would like to be refunded or had applied directly to my student loans!! I feel like I was tricked and I feel that is what this company does by taking advantage of to many uninformed people!!!
