The letter is a student loan consolidation payment reduction program prepared for myself ******** ******. The student loan assistance loan department has given a phone number of 866-346-2135. They claim no credit check, interest rate reduction, lower monthly payments based on income and family size and loan forgiveness. They have the amount of student loan that I owe 35,101. There is no letter head on the letter or return address on the envelope. The envelope has my address and Final Notice on the front. Red flag states this is a scam letter.

I am an Air Force veteran on disability and attending school. The letter I received appeared to be legitimate. I should have research the letter BEFORE having a panic attack. My gut feeling told me it was a scam but by this time, 30 minutes prior, I submitted ALL my information to them. I was fortunate to have my bank account closed before they wanted to withdraw the first payment $366.00 for three months to pay for the tax on my loans. I was completely confused about the term "loan forgiveness", when in June of next year I would be paying $49.00 a month for the rest of my life, to pay back $50000. God looks out for babies and fools and I wouldn't live long enough to get that paid off at that rate. I believe this time I most definitely do my research before I give away my life.
