They call 3x/daily and when I talk to an operator to have my name off the call list, they hang up. When I call back, it says the number is disconnected.

Continues to call offering student loan forgiveness and asking for personal information. I have zero student loans.

- Mountain View, AR, USA

So people from "Student loan forgiveness " call me every day all day. I have gotten over 20 calls from them in a day at one point. When I pick up it's a computerized thing saying stuff about student loan forgiveness and something about hearing more or talking to someone press 1 or if I would like to be taken off the call list press 9 (or some other number I cant exactly remember) before I kept pressing 9 and they would still call me. I finally got tired of the repeated calls so I pressed one to actually talk to someone. When they answer they said this is "so and so" cant remember who they said "are you calling about student loan forgiveness?" I said "actually no lm calling cuz I have requested multiple times to be taken off your call list and I'm still getting calls, so you can either take me off your call list or I'm calling the police for harrassment " (which I know the police are not the ones to go to for this). Before I could finish talking they hung up on me and yet are still calling me repeatedly from different numbers. I'm starting to get very mad.

I have been receiving phone calls from these people for weeks and they ALWAYS hang up on me when I ask for a name or the company name. These people are targeting people like me offering student loan debt relief and student loan forgiveness. I cannot block them as they call from a different number each time. Here is a list of numbers they have called from so far......:

281 540 2158

281 852 4715

281 427 5268

281 387 1405

I have been getting phone calls for the last year or two from people who claim to be from the government with student loan forgiveness and that I need to give them my student loan ID and the amount of debt I have. I have never given them my information, but have questioned them heavily about their motives. The first person you talk to is always aggressive and angry when you do not cooperate. They tell you that you are wasting their time and they will call someone who wants their loans forgiven. They demand you give them your information before they will transfer you to "The specialist". I've tried to get transferred to this specialist without giving my information, but they don't allow it. I've asked for my number to be removed from the call list MULTIPLE times because if this were a legitimate government organization they would kindly oblige. They don't, each time they disconnect the call abruptly. I keep blocking the numbers they call from, but they create new numbers. Everyone I know has been getting these calls. I've spoken with my loan provider who advise it is a scam and many people have lost thousands of dollars over it. NOTE: the information below is not based on a specific person. It is based on the fact that people have previously fallen for this.

They call me on the hour every day. They are violating the fair debts and collections Act by the multiple number of calls I get. I am disabled do not owe any loan debt. And the cause of my disability I cannot rest during the day with their constant calling. Why should I have to turn my phone off to avoid their phone calls and not enjoy calls from people I want. When I try to ask them to not call me they simply hang up and call me an hour later. I'm very irritated tired and haven't got much sleep because of this issue.

A recorded womens voice asks if you would like debt forgiveness and if you transfer they try to "confirm" tour information. Before I gave her any info on me I asked the woman what company she worked for and she hung up on me.

Calls me everyday to tell me that I can have forgiveness on my student loans. I told them if they call me I'm going to report it to you guys and then file harassment charges.

- Bettendorf, IA, USA

I continuously get calls from several different phone numbers, some from Virginia, New York, and even local numbers. They all have the same message: you qualify for student loan forgiveness. Which would be great. BUT I DONT HAVE ANY STUDENT LOANS. Which clearly means they know I'm in school and are trying to pray on already struggling students drowning in debt. Its despicable. I have even tried going on the no call list, but they just call from a different number.

Woman called about student loan forgiveness, asked if I wanted to learn more, I said yeah, and then the call ended

- Franklin, WI, USA

I received an unsolicited text message on my phone at 9:27am that says, "STUDENT ALERTS: Your student loan is flagged for forgiveness - pending verification. Call now at 626-210-4182. Reply Stop to opt out." *Note that I haven't had a student loan since 1985 and it was paid off in two years! I have since graduated from college twice, never taking out a loan. In addition, I'm on the DO NOT CALL list and therefore shouldn't be getting these calls. The scammers were scammed when they purchased the list of phone numbers!

I got an automated call from 949-334-9193 asking me to call 844-788-4220 about a student loan forgiveness program they could offer me.

- Fontana, CA, USA

I received a text message from this number saying I had student loans, which I know I do not. I called the number several times to ask them to take me off the call list they just continuously hung up on me when I knew I wasn't going for the little scam, repeatedly call back try to get an employee information and employee number in employee name they cannot provide any of that, and continue to hang up on me , They also were acting really funny saying things like we're gonna put you on the call every day list even though I was asking them to not call me, and I was being recorded illegally because they did not disclose that I was being recorded before they recorded my voice then proceeded to hang up when I told them they have to tell me if I'm being recorded or not, I was hung up on at least 11 times, in the original text that I received it did say return my call at the number that I called and the name that was left to contact with the name Sarah, when I asked for Sarah they said it was a robot and lsighed then proceeded to hang up again

- Converse, TX, USA

The individuals called asking about loan information. I made the mistake of giving them my social, they created an FSA ID and stated they were affiliated with the education division. I called the FSA ID department to investigate further. I called the department to ask for their information they would not give me a physical address to their location or a website.

Got a robocall claiming to be from a student loan forgiveness company. Knew right away it was a scam call because she has never had a student loan. Call looked like a local number, but when called back, said it was disconnected.

- Jersey City, NJ, USA

I called the number and as soon as I told them what student loan are they talking abt they hung up. I called again and asked why I was hung up on and they put an animated recording telling me their hours of service.

Offering student loan forgiveness based on Donald Trump's "new plan".

- Pittsburgh, PA, USA

I keep getting repeated calls asking me to log into my student loan account while on the phone and they give me a code I need to enter. When I explain I'm not going to do this the caller gets belligerent and keeps calling. This has been going on for a month.

- Marion, OH, USA

I have been contacted multiple times b multiple email addresses touting student loan debt relief approval. They're calling my personal cell and I am on the national do not call registry. I have threatened to report them for the calls and for the emails, but they still keep coming, sometimes 4x a day. It is harassment and I am ready to get a lawyer and sue. I am so fed up with these people.

- Woodruff, SC, USA

This business stated that the SC Dept of Education would be taking the loan over. I am currently with nell net. They asked for the last 4 digits of my ss#. To get into the system I had to set up a password. They got into nell net and saw how much I owed on the loan. Saw where I went to school. They gave me information on how much I would have to pay monthly on this loan with this business. Did not ask for money up front.
