Received an automated phone call from the Student Loan Service Center (Cathy McDonald). Phone number that appeared was 888-260-7884 Phone number that I was told to call was 888-260-9381. Message said that I needed to call them as this was a final notice to reduce my student loan payment to $40 a month. When I called, I started to explain that I don't have any student loans and the man that answered promptly told me to "[censored] off" and hung up.

I received a call from Joe Butler Agent 10498 from Student Loan Service Center. The call started claiming he was a part of Federal Student Aid Department of Education and that per a recent law that was passed they can help consolidated or remove my student loan debt. I kept asking questions as I was insure of who was calling me as my loans are through a service provider. I quickly learned he was associated with a company Called Student Loan Service Center - when I asked him for a business website to look up his company he couldn't provide one. Joe Butler than went on to the Department of Education website entered in my email address and did "forgot password" which sent me an email to provide him a code - i found this extremely suspicious since he initially claimed to be with the department of education. I kept asking questions and he got extremely aggressive with me over the phone saying things like "he was trying to help me and doesn't have time to answer my nonsense questions". I ended up haning up on him but think this company is a scam that is trying to act as a student loan provider but ultimately was probably trying to steal my personal information by hacking into my student loan provided account. Joe Butler at Student Loan Service Center is a scammer.
