Got a phone call claiming my son requested SAT prep materials and that before they send it they need to get parental approval and get a valid credit card on file in case we don’t return the materials. They had my son’s name, our address and school information and it seemed legit until they actually ran my card and asked me to verify the transaction when my bank sent a text to make sure I approve the charge. So it went from no charge unless I didn’t return the materials to charging my card on the spot. He gave me a confirmation number , customer service number, and everything. Then I got another text because the charge was declined and they were trying again. I called my bank immediately and closed that card and told them to decline any transactions from them. Near miss!
