Scam!!
I demanded they give me a refund and so far, nothing. They said the puppy will be sent to their rescue team as abandoned. And I had repeatedly told him that I don’t have $5500 but he kept demanding I make the deposit. I told him to give me a full refund or I would report them.
They are scammers from INDIA!
Total money lost $600
Type of a scam Online Purchase
We decided that we wanted our new puppy to be with us on Christmas day, so we went ahead and arranged to purchase him. We would told that the adoption fee was $400.00 and since Oscar was in California and we would need him to be transported to us there would be an additional $200.00 added for travel.
At the point of sell we offered to pay via PayPal. ********" said that this was a family hobby and they did it out of love for the breed and did not have it set up as a business. He insisted that the fact that the fee was so reasonable was due to the fact they were not doing it for the money.
He went on to say that Google Pay, Zelle, Apple Pay or Strike would be how we would need to take care of Oscar's payment.
We were not registered with any of these methods.
We started with Google Pay. Since we had never had an account, it would not allow for us to pay the full amount. We decided to split it, so the first payment was $450.00 paid through GPay. We were told to use the name, "Care Giver" and phone number of ***** ********. It seemed odd, yet we were invested in Oscar by this point.
Then we had to figure out the balance. "*******" said that Zelle would allow for a small transaction to take place to complete the sale. We did pay $150.00 through Zelle. This time we were told to use the email address of ********************* and the Zelle name: "Giselle" with the memo of "Oscar."
The next step was to get our puppy to us. Our whole family was so excited! We were going to have Oscar home for Christmas. "*******" even sent us small video clips of him sitting and sleeping... adorable!
We were told that the next morning Oscar would travel. It got confusing. We were not sure if he was going to travel in the morning or travel information would be provided. We kept asking and ********" ended up getting short with us via text.
The next morning we received a text stating the ********" had dropped Oscar of at a pet delivery company named, "United Pet Air Delivery." He provided a website, tracking number and phone number.
By this time we had found out that this was a scam. We decided to see it through to help others. We had seen that we would be approached to pay a large amount in "Pet Travel Insurance" that was to be refundable along with other items such as a crate.
The travel company's website was very convincing and we were given a link to track Oscar's travel to us at ********************************/track-your-shipment/ with his tracking number. The phone number showing: ************. Each time we entered the number Oscar showed "pending."
By the second day, we checked with ********" to see when Oscar would arrive. He said we MUST speak with the travel company. We did yet did not allow for it to go long. The insurance was brought us and we did not engage.
By the end of the second day, after we had been told Oscar would already be with us, we contacted ********" via text again. He said we MUST speak with the travel company. We did get on the phone and were told that they had sent an email. We did not see a new email. They insisted it was there and to look in Spam. We found it and there was the insurance information. Also, we were told Oscar needed a travel crate. Then the person said that Oscar was in Nevada on a lay over. We asked how could he have traveled without a crate. No answer. We refused to pay any additional money and demanded them to deliver our puppy.
Then we contacted ********" again and demanded he take care of this. We had paid him all that was asked for the adoption fee and travel expense. He stopped answering once we said we were going to start calling the airports in Nevada asking about the status of our puppy.
Be aware! They are good and their websites are convincing. This is not the real deal. Oscar is not available and was never for us to adopt. We were heart broken and they did scam us out of $600.00. They did attempt to add at least another $800.00 or more depending on what we would have chosen. Thank goodness for the information we did finally find using the phone number.
NOTE: We did not find out that the website was a scam in our search. This is concerning! Check websites, phone numbers, email address and go to the AKC or other breeder registers to double check that the organization is real so that your hearts will not be broken like ours.
They refused to give me a refund and acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about. I made another order using a fake name and different number. I ordered the same puppy and they said it was available when they had told me it was shipped already. I confronted the guy about it and he tried denying it. Now they’re ignoring my text messages.
