Individual would call and say they're with Sullivan and associates saying that they have a debt to collect. They have called several different numbers that are associated with the person being scammed. Then when you tell them that it is either paid off or filed in a bankruptcy they say that is not true and that they never contacted you about this previously. When you tell them to contact your lawyer they then block your number.

They have called from a few different local numbers and when leaving a call back number they have used 2 numbers that have been traced back to Sullivan and Associates scams.

Received a voicemail from "Linda Wells" with Sullivan and Associates.

“Hello, my name is Linda Wells and I'm calling from the office is Sullivan and associates We have received some time, sensitive documents regarding a pending matter involving **** (Estranged Family Member), We have already mailed out several notices to the last address on file and there has been no response back The firm is left with no other options. We will move forward with all the necessary actions required to resolve spending. Over the last few months I've received several other calls with the same narrative, but different number. The number they call from is not the number left on the voicemail. The number they call from is always a spoofed local area code for my residential area.

They called me saying they did a reverse phone search and found my sister was tied to my phone they said they need me to verify if she’s my sister and are we related then they further messaged me a fake looking case reference number to ‘look up’ they’re saying the ‘firm’ has no choice but to move forward to deal with whatever fake scenario they made up about her anybody calling from that thing do not reply it is a full blow scam and they are trying to get sensitive information out of you to scam you who knows who it could be it could be some crazy ex that’s trying to find your address and hurt you or your family hence trying to get personal information. It’s a complete scam that company doesn’t even exist and the only thing related to that came up from some place in Alabama. DO NOT FALL FOR IT

02/24/25 - Voicemail was left for myself, my aunt and my mother from phone number 681-256-2290 - stating documents are being prepared to be sent out and I will need to be available to sign for the delivery, if they are unable to reach at home, they will attempt to reach out to verified place of employment. To stop further action from being taken I need to contact them at 888-500-1423 - reference number 266487. I reached out to the number and was informed that I had an outstanding debt from 2016, and if I did not pay the amount due they would serve me civil suit papers. I hung up the call. 03/17/25 - Voicemail was left for myself, my mom and my son from phone number 304-209-4914 - same type of voicemail, this time the return phone number was 888-362-5934 - reference number 674027 I returned the call again and got the same type of information - I told them I did not owe the debt they said an officer would be at my house on 3/20/25 - no one showed up. 04/04/25 - Voicemail was left for myself, my mom and my husband from phone number - 304-244-2012 - same type of voicemail, return phone number was 855-537-5582 - reference number 219433 I returned the call again - a man answered Sullivan and Associates - he asked if I had received a phone call or a letter - I asked for their physical address and he immediately became belligerent and would not provide - said I was going to show up with a gun and shoot the place up because I owed them money. He said I was [censored] of the earth because I don't pay my bills and he said I could either settle it or they would see me in court. I told him take me to court and he said their nasty attorneys were going to eat me alive and make my life a living hell. He also told me my date of birth and social security number. I have frozen my credit reports, I have called discover, I have no accounts with them in collections.

Both my sister and brother received voicemails from a Linda Wells with Sullivan and Associates. My brother called back and the person identified as Michael Walsh - demanding money and being disrespectful. When I called the number the same human identifying as Michael Walsh asked me if I was **** when I stated yes this person without requesting further identification read Me MY full social security number and current address. Stated it was a debt with HSBC from 10 years ago and when I asked who the collection agency was he said there was over 12 of them and never gave me one name. He swore at me and called me delusional for refusing to pay a debt. When I stated my parents both worked for experian and I believed this call to be a lie he said he could throw the debt on my credit report real quick- I said do it. he kept rambling and I hung up and filed a police report and a report with ic3.gov as directed by the local authorities.

Scammer left a voice mail, As Follows: Hello, Good Morning Mr. Sean L****, Mr. L**** I'm calling from the office of Sullivan and Associates. I'm calling because the office here received a formal complaint. The matter we got it is associated with a social ending, it says here 1234 (But used mine). Mr. Sean L****, we sent you the appropriate paperwork regarding this matter months ago as of today 13 November, we haven't heard back from you, that is why I'm calling. My name is Mike *****. Your file is marked as refusal to cooperate due to your lack of communication with our office. This message represents your chance to contact us on a voluntary basis before we move forward against you. It's in your best interest to return the calls you're able to actively participate in the decision making process. Th direct toll-free number is 855-595-7155 reference to case number 88875.

The scammer used the last four of my social, so it's clear they had information about me. I've never received any previous information from Sullivan and Associated as the caller stated or any type of collection notices. I looked up the company and read that there was an exact call/message left to other people. So I will not be returning their call.

I am a finance professor at major school university. I have been involved in the finance field for over 30 years. I know abut credit and debt. So well about 9 months ago I received a letter in the mail from Sullivan & Associates and of course it had some demand about an old bill. It was an auto loan from DRIVETIME, It wasn’t really even my debt since I was just a co signer on the contract and the debt was so old I figured that they would not be able to collect anyways.
About a month later I got a call from a man at their firm, he told me the balance and gave me a settlement offer but I told him good luck and hung up the phone I don’t do any business over the phone anyways.
Sullivan & Associates sued me and we went to court. When we went to court, they had all the original contracts with my signature. They had all the paperwork on a little disk drive. I could not believe it! The lawyer that Sullivan & Associates hired said that he was not able to negotiate and that there would be legal fess totaling $2431. The balance on the debt from drivetime is very large since my nephew defaulted very early. I made major mistake co signing for the young man years ago.
So Sullivan and company got their judgment against the elderly finance professor. Who would of ever thought that someone like me who know the system in and out gets in this position? They are currently garnishing my wages at the school. They garnish 25% of my income and because of the extremely high interest rate I am barely paying off any of the principal balance. At this rate it will take me 25 years to pay off the debt at this rate. This garnishment is causing me severe hardship, I really wish I would of take the initial letter seriously and settled this debt when I had the chance.
If you read the majority of the people on this thread they are people who just received the initial contact from Sullivan & Associates, they do not give the follow up what happens 6 months later. Of course, not many people tend to come back and share their embarrassing and often times painful experience,
Make your own choices if you know you owe the debt you should probably figure out payment arrangements.

Abut 6 months ago, my cousin got a call from Sullivan and Associates. I do not even talk to this cousin, but they gave me the message and told me to call Sullivan and Associates at the number 855-783-7778. I spoke with a couple of people at the collection company and told them they I did not owe the credit card they told me I owed. I think It was Capital One. I have a Capital One card now. I hung up on them and told them good luck! They did have all my information, tho.
I was served with a summons to appear in court regard the Capital One debt they claim I owe. I can’t afford a lawyer, and I really can't even take the day off of work. I am screwed.

These people are mean debt collectors, they don’t care if it's not your debt, they will take you to court. I wish I just settled the debt when I talked to them all those months ago, but now It's too late for the settlement, the best I can hope for is to avoid legal fees and try to keep my house.

Wish me good luck! I was one of the people who wrote a review on this site earlier, boy am I mistaken, this not a scam. THIS IS A LEGIT COMPANY WHO WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN DO GET YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, BE CAREFUL AND DON’T MAKE MY MISTAKES

Earlier this year I was contacted by Sullivan and Associates and was told that I owe $5412 from an old credit card. I signed up from this credit card years ago but I did not even use it. I don't deal with credit cards and I always pay my bills and check my credit report all the time. I told the man on the phone that I do not know what they are talking about and that they had the wrong person. The scary thing is that they have my social security number.

Two weeks after I spoke with Sullivan and Associates I noticed they put the credit card on my credit report, I called the credit companies and told them it is not mine. They told me to contact Sullivan and to try and dispute the debt. I sent some letters and disputed the debt but it was still on my credit reports. This is making me super mad! I do not owe this debt.

Well now fast forward two months and I goto try and re finance my mortgage and I find out that Sullivan and Associates has lien on my house! This is not fair! Apparently I missed my court date and Sullivan has a judgement against me now.

These people will come after your assets. They are ruthless debt collectors and I wished I would of just tried to settle this debt. They warned me of their intentions but I did not take the company seriously because of all this misleading information in this post from people who obviously do not like the pay their bills or do not care about their credit. My credit is damaged and I will have the pay the debt with their fees because of the lien

I WISH I MADE BETTER CHOICES WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY
