I saw an ad on FaceBook for a "global online store" that sold discounted Costa sunglasses. We ordered two pairs. I received an e-mail confirming my order and a text message confirming shipment. They took several weeks to arrive. While waiting, I sent an e-mail to the company at [email protected] to confirm shipping. I received an email from "John Roger" stating not to worry, that the package was on it way, but the e-mail was signed "Victoria." I wrote back stating that this e-mail made me feel uncomfortable and I just wanted a refund on the purchase. I did not receive a response and the sunglasses came in the mail two days later. They arrived in black plastic wrap with no information identifying the company. Under the black wrap were two badly crushed, but authentic Costa boxes. Inside the boxes were authentic Costa cases that included Costa marketing inserts. The marketing inserts did not indicate which model sunglasses were included. The sunglasses were not Costas and were obviously made from very poor quality materials. They did not even resemble the specific models we ordered. I have tried to e-mail the company but have not received any response and cannot find a telephone number. I have filed complaints with Facebook and Costa. Costa has launched an investigation with their fraud department. These ads, along with other identical ads that lead to other fraudulent "Costa" websites, continue to pop up on my FaceBook timeline and FaceBook has made no effort to prevent the fraud that it is promoting.
