We received more than one phone call this morning from a very aggressive male with an East Indian accent stating that our computer was in the process of being hacked by Russians. When we hung up, he continued to call back until I took the phone myself and challenged him. He told me he was with Superior Tech Help, and that I had paid them $249.00 back on August 26, 2014 to monitor my internet security. He said they had put an icon on my desktop, and if it wasn't there it would be in My Documents. I told him that none of that was true and he insisted that it was and that I needed help right away!! I told him I would call Microsoft myself and he said I wouldn't be able to get a tech on the line and that he was calling to help me. He actually got pretty obnoxious and kept saying we were wasting time...that I was being hacked as we spoke. I told him that I was going to check it out and his persistence was what was wasting time. I hung up and double-checked all that he had claimed....just to make absolutely sure. My bank confirmed that I had never written a $249.00 check on August 26, 2014 to Superior Tech or anyone else. There were NO "My Technician" icons anywhere on my computer. I can get a Microsoft tech on the phone anytime I want. My bank account is currently safe and stable....no attempts made to get through the lock code.

The phone number for this "organization" is 844-620-1714. I was able to call them back and tell them I was going to report them and to not call me again. Another East Indian accent.

We have had several calls of this nature in the past, but they were not as slick, and the phone they used would not accept calls. This one was different. Someone is going to be convinced by these people and get into a lot of trouble. These things need to STOP.

I have reported them to the FTC and to the Do Not Call Registry.
