Purchased goes through, and I await any sort of confirmation email. The Supply GB website has a shipping policy stating all items ship in 2-3 business days, and the buyer will receive a shipping confirmation email once the item ships. I received no email, and reached out to the company via email to inquire about whether or not the item has been shipped, what time-frame is expected, and when I would receive confirmation, etc. No response. I called multiple times. No ability to reach them. The phone number given in association with the (presumably fake) Utah office is not valid. It's a "Google" phone number and there is not a way to contact anyone.
I send another email January 17th, following up on this. No response.
So I begin my own due-diligence on the issue by researching the legitimacy of the company on a simple Google search. I.e. "is Supply GB a scam?"....Massive results! There are many Youtube videos, review websites, and even Paypal community boards dedicated to the issue of this company's many scams on a large number of people. So many similar stories about not receiving product and no way to communicate with the company.
A note on Paypal:
It appears this fake company has found a way to beat the Paypal system.
Once you file a claim requesting a return for the reason of undelivered product, or any reason for a claim, Paypal will request proof of shipment (via tracking number or the like). Somehow, SupplyGB has constructed a method for producing a FAKE USPS tracking number. If you type this USPS tracking number into the USPS website (the official, federal website) you will see the delivery has "completed" and "has been delivered" to the buyer. You will even see the various check-points, inspections, and delivery info (city-to-city) on USPS updates.
Reading from personal accounts submitted to comment sections and community boards, it appears many people have tried "making the case" to Paypal by submitting official USPS reports that have no record of the delivery and also there have been those who have submitted "doorbell cams" and home camera evidence that shows no such delivery. All of this to no avail.
In this sort of case, it seems, Paypal will side with the seller so long as they can provide the tracking number. Case closed. Nothing else they are willing to do. I guess they are trying to protect sellers from those who want a refund even after receiving a product, but it seems like a hugely broken system to me. My package specifically was supposed to be 80 pounds or more, and, if "shipped" on the 14th (like the tracking delivery info said), would likely not have arrived in 4 days. It was shipped from China. To USA, across 2 states...in 4 days? Not likely. I receive SO MUCH mail, and packages (including from China, Indonesia, etc. and I have never experienced such rapid shipping). In any case, I truly never received the product even if it was shipped and there is no way to prove this or contest it with Paypal.
Still, no communication with the company, although they were quick to respond to the Paypal claim.
I was provided a different email to dispute the case with someone "from the company", but my hopes are not high for a response.
This is clearly a scam company and I'm just grateful they are only fishing for small dollar values. $50 will not "break the bank" but it is disgusting how they are shamelessly willing to scam consumers, and not to mention Paypal.
This is a seriously dangerous "loophole" on the behalf of Paypal as anyone can now fake a tracking number and fall into their protection.
We've now filed a claim with our bank, and hopefully they will be willing to refund our money.
I reasonably believe this was a true SCAM COMPANY because of a few factors: 1) The unwillingness to communicate and un-availability of communication methods. 2) Their unwillingness/inability to adhere to the proposed policies from the company website (i.e. No shipping email confirmation provided), and 3) The enormous number of similar accounts sourced across a variety of platforms on the internet (i.e. Youtube videos and comments sections, independent review websites, and even Paypal discussion boards).
Hopefully this will help others avoid our mistakes!
Just a few extra notes:
