A young man claiming to be Chris Obrien solicited our neighborhood claiming to be collecting money for boxes to send to disabled veterans specifically vets with PTSD. He had two laminated cards. One showed what seemed to be the business: Support Box Campaign and the other with levels of boxes and contents to be purchased such as food and care items. The boxes started at $40 and went upwards into the hundreds. He needed cash or card but didn't take check. He went on and on about how his whole family was military. Claimed his dad is a Marine Veteran, brother Navy or AF. I hesitate but bought a $40 box with my debit card. He wanted to sign onto our internet so he could process the payment. He sent an email confirmation from [email protected]. Something didn't seem right so I looked up Support Box Campaign, which does exist but the campaign ended Sept 2018. I am waiting for my transaction to post and then disputing my donation. I will be reporting this as fraud through my bank. I am also closing my debit card and getting a new one.

He said there were 18 others in our area collecting for the same campaign but I have not seen anyone else soliciting near our neighborhood, ****** ***** ******* or anywhere near our neighborhood.
